I think all this freebies is good to attract newbies like me. Cos I start up with almost nothing so everything seems useful to me..........but than better go for better price. Will go check out friendly neighbourhood shops in the future or check out the buy sell section for better deals.

Well, they are all part time promoters, can't blame them also. Most of them probably don't even like photography. Maybe you should have just clarified with him on the spot that its 1.5 crop facter. And educate him, instead of having him not knowing anything. And continue giving ppl the wrong info. Its good deed

That promoter is so full of himself that he wanted to bet $100 with me that 12-24 will have vignetting on FX throughout the focal range. And when I tried on D700 (I set auto-detect DX to off) and told him that from 18mm and onwards, the 12-24 won't show vignetting on the image, he took the 18-70(?!) from another body, set it at 18mm, put it on the D700 and told me "See? Still have the dark circle mah". This guy doesn't deserve to wear the Nikon professional polo-T... :nono: And I should have bet with him and get his 100 bucks.
