Think this time round Nikon is target those crowd who wants DSLR quality with simple P&S control.

DSLR quality with P&S control in P&S size........ Small and easy to carry around..... a lot of people do not like the size of DSLR, they find it too big....

actually i expected a P7100 with inter changeable lens and bigger sensor

Agree on that.

Nikon should consider a more "Pro" model for enthusiasts. Or at least one with a standard hot shoe.

Or simply just shoehorn this sensor into the P7100 body with just a collapsible lens to ensure a small form factor. I would buy it, 3.5mm mic. input, loads of manual dials and controls, and a standard flash shot shoe.

I don't like small cameras... :)

I don't see any standard flash hotshoe on either of the new cams.

This basically confirms what I saw on imaging resource. The Nikons are quite good despite all the skepticism.

Actually yes they are.

I know many feel that 2.7 crop factor is a disappointment.
Have you thought of using this with a 300mm lens? Imagine now you have a 810mm focal length.... wow....
Another advantage I see is that they are able to make much smaller and lighter CX lenses which will be more suited to it.

Yes the cx lenses are really small and light, especially the 10mm f/2.8

I would like to see a 10-30mm F/1.4 zoom for Nikon 1. :-)

Not sure where I read, it wasn't about this 2.7 but it was more on full frame vs crop bodies. Both on 300mm, you might be better results on the full frame, just manually crop the picture to match the crop body.

I believe that's because most people think small sensor = no good..

I just hope they release their prime lens for their Nikon 1 system asap....

What focal length were you hoping for?
I thought the 10/2.8 (27mm FOV) would make a pretty nifty combo.

10/1.8 would be better though ;)

i posted links to the full size images in My picturetown

it is the current last posts on the review thread

I was thinking like 10mm f1.4, 30mm f1.4 & 50mm f1.4, haha, I think too much :p
