This news couldn't have come at a worse time....

.... I just bought my D90 yesterday!

There is NEVER a best time to buy electronic gadgets...
When you feel ready, just buy it.

I bought my D90 in Feb... package was ard $1.7k.
4 months down the road... the D90 package is still retailing ard $1.6 - $1.7k.
I'm glad the prices for the D90 still maintaining...

Plus one.

Just a few weeks after I bought the D80, Nikon launched the D90. I was unhappy for a while especially after using a loan D90 for a gig I realized D80 was in many ways inferior than the D90.

But later I realized I have no regrets using the D80 because otherwise I probably wouldn't learn as much and advanced as fast using a much easier and consumer-friendlier camera. With the D80 I had to fix many things in post processing and it forced me to learn.

bonus is coming n they want our bonus ..

is a trap !!!!!

it's simple really... They just can't stop wanting your money in their pocket... ;)

anyway... i bought my d90 at extremely high price... but yet... not everything is justifiable with the money $ign... :)

This year no bonus for civil service, I don't know if a small price reduction will entice people to start buying.

If the price is low enough, it would be worth getting. :p

I called MS Color today and enquired about the D90. It is retailing at S$1699 with 4GIG SD Card, Tripod and carrying bag.

Pop by Raffles City's Harvey Norman and it is going for S$1998 with 2X 4 (or was it 8GIG) SD card, Tripod, Dry Box, Carrying bag. If opt out of the dry box, he is willing to give 2 year additional warrenty.

MS Color do not have stock at the moment.
Harvey Norman requires 1 to 2 days.

MS Color price still no change, still the same when i got my D90. They had stock but instead i got it from CP Peninsula for $17xx. Which i also donno why. :D

I think Nikon Price always maintain. And the price will lower in reasonable scale through our the marketing period which will not make buyer feel bad about the lower price in the product toward end sales where as Canon will drop quite dramatically through our the marketing period.

Well, those who just buy already a winner. Waiting for price to lower always an time killing. When?? And during waiting period, those have already bought will have tonnes of beautiful photos. Of course, those who are still waiting for budget, then, consider lucky and purchase it when the price is lower.

There are many things to regret throughout our life.....we don't have to always justify it in monetary term.....lost opportunity is something that money can't buy

Sounds like credit card ads :sweatsm:

one thing i fail to understand is that how come MS Color is out of stock for the same models and its also not availabe readily in HN or J316 but CP-F has stock!!

Why so much discrepency in the availability?

DeepS

Wad I heard fr some of the shop staff is that Nikon try to improve their sales image by controlling the stock they allocate to dealers so that the particular model "seems" to be selling like hot cakes?

marketing tactics? not too sure...:dunno: *take it wif a pinch of salt.

What I was told is that the stock comes in dribs and drabs... meaning one or two sets per shop order. Pathetic... or is everyone turning into photographers?

From what I observe at different shops, the stocks are coming in very little quantity each time, but a lot more frequent. Was told by a shop that this is nikon's tactic to control selling price, which imho, is more of a tactic to make people buy the D300 or simply get another brand.
