Nice shots... So far I have owned 2 pieces of 35/1.8.. in the end, I still sold the lens (twice).. this is only because I already have a Sigma 24/1.8 that works well. The sweet spot for the vignetting seems to be F2.8. It is almost invisible at 2.8. And focus distance cannot be too far... One thing that gets to me is the distortion this lens give on FX... regardless, it is still a good buy for FX actually.

Indeed I find it weird why B&S are posting this lens at an average of $300 where new one is only $20+ more. Doesn't make any sense to buy this at B&S.

Cathay sold this lens at $360.

Hi I am thinking of buying this len, BnS is selling about 300 and DDE is selling about <310 cash. Should I buy from DDE? is there focusing problem on this Len as the sigma 30mm f1.4? I wants to get this lens to take in indoor situation is this suitable? Thanks for answering.

We expect less focusing problem for nikon lens. For 'for nikon' type of lens, the problems will be more

Looks like it is on FX mode. Can see that from the DoF as well as the slight vignetting on the edges..

hehe.. saw the vignetting but not sure if it's really vignette so wanted to confirm with him.

Actually, 35mm is pretty ok on FX. Many excellent photographers I know shoot at 35mm on FX.

I love the effect that 35mm creates on a fx body.

i ve found that any thing below f4 and less than 10 meters manages well. i ve very pleased with how it renders skin tones though. its really nice for portraits where the corners/distortion aren't important anyway. almost adds to the feel. now im serious about getting a 35mm, but the AIS 35 f2 and AF-D 35 f2 arent good, while the pre ai 35 f2 has a different coating and wont be the rendition i want. the 35 1.4G is was out of my range and so its between the 35 1.4 AIS and this one right now. prob get this for kicks anyway.

ikr! its very involving

Ben, your skills are

Seriously nice shots!

Make me wanna retain my 35 f/1.8g dx!
