Hi, I had never used a 3rd party lens before. Just like to know is it true that 3rd party lens PQ cannot be comparable to Original one ?

Thanks.

Not true, some are even better.

:dunno:

What does PQ mean? Product Quality?

When i travel on holidays, i will always retire by F4 len at dust. without tripod its no good especially on tours where the tour guide doesnt give u time to setup tripod! after sunset, its always using f2.8 and lower. bear this in mind.

anyone who can post sample shots of the Sigma 24-70 f2.8 using a full frame camera?

does anyone know, Nikon 24-120 f4 will gives u a nicer color if compare to Sigma 24-70 ?I had the older verison, focusing is slow when lack of light .. is the nikon len this 24-120 wil b faster in focusing ? thinking of changing... any one can advise ?

Get the Nikon 24-120mm lens. It's better compared to the Sigma lens. I guess better resale value and also more demand (means easier for you to find a buyer).

Yes it does, unless your using a hi-ISO capable body. F4 after dust is a challenge, especially when lighting is tricky or really dim.
at dust? or is it at dusk? you guys got me confused for a moment.

frankly, both lens are good. the picture sharpness and colour outcome depends on the photographer. for hobby level, the one and the only consideration is "price". your wallet will decide which lens to choose.. I have been using 24-70 f2.8 DG Macro Sigma lens for a year and half. it gives me the output that i want. no issue and happy with its performance....
and yes.. DG Macro focusing is faster than HSM.

Those who are using 24-120mm, is it worth for the money? What's the price it is available now?

My friend bought that NIKON 24-120 f4 and within a week he changed to NIKON 24-70 f2.8. Sharpness is incomparable.

you'll lose that extra 70mm which sometime you want it badly.
I skipped 24-120 and dive into 24-70, never look back liao

True. But then it really depends on what you want. 24-70 range is really good enough for me. In fact, its sharpness is really superb...

If u have the budget , 24-70 is the choice. Tested by many user.

initially i also din really understand until i tried it out ... f2.8 vs f4 in low lights, shoot wide open ... AF is darn fast on 24-70/2.8.
Also tried my copy on frens d90 and d7000 ... both of them were impressed.

but like i said, sometime that extra 50mm reach really matters alot unless you crop constantly

For me, in low light, VR makes the real difference & also greater depth of field with smaller aperture more important. Even with f2.8, can easily get handshakes. Also, sharp focus more important than fast focus. But why the talk on the Nikon 24-70, thought topic is on the Sigma.
