You would use TCs for primes of longer range to extend further and aid you in your work. Why would it be designed to use on extreme zooms that extend further but limit the aperture so severely that it cannot be used properly?

Not good enough, ditch the 18-70 for 17-35 at least.

I love my lens and it is currently attach to my D70 perm and sitting loving in my digi cabi for the time being....

Got no chance to fully test my lens since buying it with the exception of shooting an office function on 30th Dec ... I might go for my usual fullerton walkabout this saturday to test the len and it all depends on the weather.

Why need to fill range? :dunno: Is it important to cover from 12 to 200 without any holes inbetween? :dunno:

I try to cover the range too, but I do not use the 28-70 range..

basically i use my kit lens, a 50mm and a AFS80-200...even if next time i buy a 17-35, I still got my 50mm to cover as I shoot portrait at that range...

17-35 with 85mm. good enough. 50mm as a just in case lens.

oh yah just in case anyone wondering i'm on MS waiting list for the next batch of 18-200 leow. they are offering me $1250 incl. gst for the lens. man its gettin cheaper and cheaper. very soon you'll see b&s flooded with it leow.
