Dancing Light

the renovation has completed... :)
i miss the fountain when i was there... :(

The light at the fountain seems too domineering, and the colour seem to clash with the rest. At least, that's my impression; no offense was intended, and I hope none taken? :)
none taken.. :) thanks for your honest comments.

right now they are lighting up the fountains for some reason.. i did try two layers to darken that light.. but cannot leh, the shutter speed change, means the water shape will change slightly (lessened due to less wind presence in a shorter time).. leading to blending errors. maybe i will bump up iso to 200, that would not make sure a big mess in the middle of the fountain due to shorter exposure time. this is 30 seconds. you can see something with a shorter exposure time (though later timing) here for comparison, it *is* a wee bit more pleasing, no?

i also dislike the van in the picture. they were carrying out some washing on the statue.. and took very long.. 30 minutes still there.. lol!

thanks for dropping by! maybe i will try another color palette.. after all there is the option to make this more "golden".. :)

Yeah. Agree with gwunwai. The colour does seem to clash with the rest of the photo although the pink light in coming from the fountain is quite interesting.

thanks for telling me what you think! :)

Haha, I come across like an armchair critic, and got some tips in return. It is I who have to thank you.

I followed your link; the colours are probably more even, but overall, I prefer your version. You managed to retain more details in the statue, and the speck of clouds on the upper left is marvellous.

Into The Woods

The black spot (tree stump?) on the left is killer.

This is what makes me an armchair critic, I know how to appreciate, but if you ask me to shoot something, totally cannot make it :p

Sorry for the OT, keep shooting, and keep sharing :)

Haha, I meant that I love the tree stump.

My feel is that it would probably be a stretch of highlights all the way to the left without it, and it also balanced the right-most tree very well.

hrm, maybe i will clone it later and compare, see which is better. :)

sorry for misunderstanding!

Sunken Treasure

The curious incident of the missing NTUC carts

Jokes aside, interesting subject. Don't really fancy the "centralised" composition though. Cheers.

Interesting! How did you do this shot? :bsmilie:

i threw a trolley into the thames..

just kidding.. someone threw it in, it was like on the shore when i went somewhere else

on the way back, the water rose, so i just shot it.. quite dark already, so the water very blackish.. :bsmilie:
