hi i just luv the color of all those landscape pics. well, r they pped or straight out from k20d?

anyway, Pentax colour is really nice. using K100d here, but lazy pp-ing pics... wondering k20d's jpeg better than k100d?

what setting you use when you took those green grass of Hermit of the wood, and d nirvana road? saturation +1?
I usually don't get that nice from k100d..unless i pp_ing hard...

your pics just fantastic!! been quite a fan of you liao lor..

hi joebgoh,

thanks for the kind comments. most of my landscapes have pp done, some of them are minimal (e.g. hermit of the wood) and some of them require more work. but my pp workflow (by me, anyhow) takes about 3 - 5 minutes per photo.. unless the photo is really problematic then it can take up to 2 hours.. but seldom find photos requiring that much work.. usually these would be extreme dynamic range cases involving manual blending of exposures in photoshop.

depends on what you mean by "better"? color wise i think they are quite similar - i used to use "bright tone" in k100d (my earlier pictures) and i'm using.. vivid now since the bright doesn't seem to be the same. as for colors, i do a wee bit of saturation at times using the channel mixer and manipulation with color balance.. but frankly speaking the colors given by nature are always good in good light.. learning when to shoot and when not to even bother clicking is probably just as important as shooting itself.

my settings in-cam are all neutral, and i shoot in raw. :) as for extensive information, the exif is all still there for both pictures.. both were shot with the sigma 10-20 and nirvana road was done with a tianya gnd too. hope that helps. cheers!

omg this is gorgeous. its not just another boring macro shot but a stunning piece of art. i love the composition and the soften touch. & Square crops are da BOMB!

great shot... it wouldnt be the same without the branch in the foreground.

haha... it would be just another boring shot if not for the butterfly. nice one!
hehehe.. like the way you comment.. brightened up my morning.

thanks for dropping by! :)

Very nice, when you want to start macro?

hey bro.. hahaha.. when i can afford a proper macro lens and flash. i used to shoot macro for a bit with a sigma 70-300 but then had to return the lens.. :bsmilie:

this shot is probably considered 'cheating'.. i think it is a half crop or even 1/3 crop of the original picture :bsmilie:

The butterfly shot is :bigeyes:. Superb control of DOF. I like the warm colours on the scene as well as the composition :)

I guess Photoshop. :bsmilie:

I've not done any photoshop and a newbie at digital photography. Thanks for the pointer. Would this be photoshop CS3 or Photoshop Elements?

Thanks
Bernard

Both can do the job I believe. :)

ah... no prob. was just scrutinizing these 2 pics which caught my special attention. lol.
seen too many of botak trees pics and i guess have to think out of the box to make it captivating. likewise for the weed with butterfly... many lalang field shots but with the butterfly, it protrays an activity with it. :)
