hey schon, thanks. that one is actually an attempt to emulate hkdigit's shot here, which i prefer more because of the colors.. but the bus drivers are too nice. when they see me there, they think that i want to shoot the building and not them.. so they brake wayyyyy before the location i want them to be in. :dunno:

maybe they're just camera shy. :bsmilie:

hi there. your photos are very good! I'm still quite a newbie. just curious, do you have to do quite a bit of editing in order to produce the rich colours in your landscape photos? I'm still wondering how some pros like you can produce those rich blue skies and other vivid colours.

not a pro, but thanks for the kind comments.

it depends, there is at times saturation for the times when the sky is not so pleasurable, i admit, also manipulation of color balance to get the color palette i want, because of in camera white balance not being tailored to how i saw the scene. i cannot say that every photo requires saturation/tweaking. take for example, 01 aug, that one only has curves/sharpness adjustments. the best results are of course gotten when the light is favourable, after all.

cheers.

I see. Thanks for the tips. yea, i notice that in general, the night scenes have a more natural and very nice colours to it. does pics like 27 april 07, 5 may 07 and 19 april require more editing than the rest?

13 july 07 is really nice.

so normally you'll go with your tripod and... any other stuff that u normally bring along?

Ponder

Hope i'm not falling into the 'what setting u used' category but seriously, what setting did u use? :bsmilie:

I tried using low shutter speed for dreamy effect when i was capturing a similar picture but it was nothing like yours :embrass:

no worries, i understand the asking here. i also had to experiment with a lot of shutter speeds - the waves at bali are a little different from those of singapore. much larger, much more energy. was lucky that this little boy was happily prancing around in the dying light for my shooting leisure. else sand, sun, sky, not really my type of sunset picture.

here 18mm, iso100, f/19, 1/2 sec handheld, with tianya gnd used. :) took the shot when the waves were receding, i think. cheers!

Thanks!

The waves did look like it was receding, judging from the sand ;)
