Not that im jealous or anything that you're in London, but dont think you did justice to Big Ben/westminster area in that one. Think you darkened the top too much, and that particular london sightseeing bus isn't very pretty... (though i realise the old hop on/off buses are rare now)...

Think there can be more in this photo, like perhaps more of the square, or something, didnt really like the amount of pavement you have there... just some thoughts (subjective of course) but i do like your colours :)

Hey, do me a favour, can you go to Hampstead and take some photos there? ;) get some crepes too, and check out the heath and the houses around the area... very nice. hehe

no offense taken whatsoever, because i personally dislike this picture as well.. it is probably one of the poorest i have taken since i came to london. a pity though, because the clouds were so beautiful, and complementary to the scene. this is because of poor use of gnd.. i should have used the full gnd instead of the hard edge.. but laziness had made me bring only one.. and no tripod.. so suck thumb and make the most out of it.. and can't be bothered to post process out the weird darkness at the top.. so like that lor :)

not sure about the inclusion of pavement, but i was drawn to the shadows on the ground. it is not easy to avoid taking a cliched shot of the big ben though, there are only so many views and yet even more tourists milling around the whole place.. i do wish that i can find a good viewpoint, but being there twice and not much luck as of yet.

hampstead? where is that? i generally have not had much chance to venture out of london zone 1 yet.. only cambridge/oxford and that's about it. i would like to explore more but worry about safety issues, i guess. london does not really feel safe to me.. yet. cheers and thanks for commenting :)

you mean the darkness was natural?? strange. thought u PSed it.

anyway yeah the sky is awesome, noticed that. i know what you mean about cliched pics of Big Ben, i think every angle has been covered... but you should try maybe going into the grass patch in the middle of the square, just across the road from where you took that pic, maybe you could get some nice perspectives from there and from the protestors who are always there.

hampstead is north, take the northern line and get off at hampstead hgih street (zone 2). follow your nose to the crepe stall (walk down the hill, it's on the right).... gorgeous stuff and the high street is very pretty too...

Hampstead heath is really nice, there's a great park there, if you head further down the hill and then turn left at some fo the side roads you'll find it.

another nice photo place you might want to try is Marylebone High Street? It's a really quaint little high street in the middle of Central London. Google it, im sure u'll find it, nearest tube station is Bond street and it's just north.

are you studying or something?

i like the moodiness of the last photo :)

nah, it's not natural, it's due to usage of gnd filter.. :) bad usage, at that. yes, there are always protestors there.. i wonder if they would mind if i took snaps of them though, but i don't really want to try hurhur, people not really my cup of tea

ah, zone 2.. safe? yes? no? :bsmilie: ok i sound so paranoid

i'll check marylebone out, i think i haven't been there yet.. and yep, i'm studying at a university here :) cheers and thanks

:) yes, it was intended that way

i shot it slightly overexposed, then converted to duotone and did some vignetting, etc
