Night shots at

You got nice model and location. It doesn't have to be bokeh all the time.

hey bro... i came late... should have spotted this thread earlier!

ha ha, nice pics! it's tough to shoot at night but you managed it so nicely! next time night shoot must learn from you!

i noticed i already know 3 overseas beauty hunters here... and they hunt for different styles of models... ha ha but i hunt for all...

Cheers,
Barry

Very nice shots, well done! A nice change from the usual portrait shots...

Thanks for the compliments.. ;)

nice set you got here... even if you don't put your name in the pics, your images imply who the shooter is. nice bokeh esp on background lights.

xie xie!! ^^

Nice!!!

Hi Kongo, can i know what camera are you using?

Thanks alot

hi

its was awesomeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

shot buddy .. advice how u do da setting //
wat is da setting u use
Don't set the the camera to shoot at flash sync speed. A slow shutter speed provides a colorfully lit subject and a bright background. Slow-sync flash + large aperture + tripod recommended.

Hi all, thanks for the comments..

Didnt expect this 3 mth old thread will be digged out again, haha..

My night shots shooting style is to make use of ambience lightings as far as possible, using large aperture lens + high ISO with flashes for fill-in. I didnt bring a tripod to china this trip, but I shoot together with a beijing friend and he helped me to hold one of my flash off-camera for some of these shots. Many thanks to him..

Camera = 5D mk2, lens = 35L & 85L..

Settings: Manual exposure, custom WB, flash setting errr.. I think just ETTL with some compensation..

Let me check the EXIF:
ISO1600 1/160s f/1.8 Lens: 85mm (cant remember whether I use 1 or 2 flashes for this one..)
original.jpg

ISO400 1/160s f/1.8 Lens: 35mm (make use of windows lights, most likely only 1 flash mounted on camera)

ISO800 1/160s f/2.0 Lens: 85mm (shd be 2 flashes, 1 main on cam, the other slave held by my friend)

hope these helps.. :)

Err.. I tot I had explained in post #56?

Or which particular photo you are refering to?

hi

wat is da setting for dis .. did u use flash .. can u give me da advice on it

mind to tell any soft box or defuser or reflector on your flash?
i don't know how to control the flash@@

I used a lambency clear diffuser on my 580EX and a Gary Fong Cloud diffuser on my 430EX..

Control wise, if I use M mode, most likely it's adjusted to the lowest output,
if I use ETTL/TTL mode, compensate accordingly lor, flash output too strong, press - until it looks more natural, if too weak, press + unlikely it looks adequate.. haha

Superb series yet again.

In CS, your work is one of the very few that I really like. Really inspiring and keep me shooting and trying out ideas. Thanks for sharing.
