Thanks knoxknocks. I will try to correct that, although I have already tried. lousy ps skills :embrass:

Week 4... Windows..

a unique window...

the wooden window flap opens up and sticks outs like a tongue, or the eyelid of an eye?

Week 4... Windows

intricate latticed-mesh that covered the window... how much memories do you keep?

hard to tell from the pic that it survived a natural disaster. it must have been quite an emotive experience to be there.

hmmm ... you visited the tsunami affected areas ... reminds me of my sri lanka trip last year, quite a pain to see the aftermath then (1 month+ only after the disaster)

i cropped off the pile of metal rods waiting to be used to rebuild it and a builder standing on top of another building in construction behind this..

i have more pix of houses under construction from the same village, and also boats being built. The people there are still living in temporary huts while half destroyed houses were or still being pulled down to make way for new houses to be built.

sadly, the disaster and the harsh conditions have also made many of them more pragmatic and one demanded money from my colleague for having her pix taken. :(

i didnt take many photos of people there, because there were some restrictions. perhaps share pix of the other houses in another thread.

i'd be going there this month, but it's so long after the disaster. what you had seen would be even more painful.

hmmm ... but relief works are really slow due to the unstable political climate

yup. i think SL still has the slowest progress among the few countries affected. politics and government were some of the factors impeding the progress of work. in the north, it's worse.
