Nex5N focusing and shutter lag slow

5N is faster than EP1/2/L1 AF speed, it is rather slow, EP3/L3/M1 are significantly faster...DSLR fast. But not continuous AF, just single AF. DSLR phase detection is still better. The improvements in AF speed for CDAF has improved significant and can only get better. Panasonic has done a good job since GF1.

Thanks bro yeah EP1/EPL1 AF is a bit slow for my kids thats one reason I've moved to A33... Now I am planning to get oe mirrorless body as I missed playing around with MF lenses. I'm considering NEX5n, EPL2, GF1/2, EP1/2. This time I dont need fast AF as I will be using MF lenses most of the time.

Nex 7 where got cross sensors for AF? It is CDAF, don't confuse it with PDAF.
