True, looking at the retail price, I believe non-sony camera shops selling non-retail price will be around $399 or so?
Since the retail price is pretty close to SEL 55-210mm release quite some time ago.

Since I'm in HK this weekend I might as well try my luck in Tsim Sha Tsui and Mongkok. Checked multiple branches from Wing Shing, Broadway and Fortress. Finally I managed to find one unit from Fortress in Mongkok this afternoon. Was really damn lucky. It was the only piece they restocked today they say. I was even expecting the salesperson to make a mistake. Paid HK$2,390, which was close to S$400. They also helped me with the tourist local warranty. On a side note, 55-210 and cz 24mm no stock there.

@ageha: After factoring the crop factor, the effective focal length of 75mm needs a little getting used to. Bokeh is as good as what the online community has discussed.

Huh? When did you view it at MS Color? My fren collected for me on my behalf and I have not even touched the lens yet. Mine was supposed to be the "last piece" at MS Color so dun tell me that they knowingly sell me a piece with dust inside the lens...

MS Color also told me only 1 piece left. I think it's just a sales gimmick.

As to the dust, can take a pic and show? Sony lens is notorious for dust inside, but I don't think it will affect the image quality. You can always send it to the service center.

Took the lens out for a quick shoot just now. Luv it. IMO, this prime lens should have been out together with the camera in the first place.

I visited about 6:30PM, it really was the last piece there. Upon taking out they told me need not to check as its sealed. However, I realized the seal is broken hence I took it out to inspect.

There is a 1mm white dust inside the glass at the front of the lens. I never buy it as I find it an eye sore, right in the center some more! I suspect someone exchange it beforehand hence the broken seal.

There was a white dude asking for the lens while I was there, not sure if he buy it after I left.

Anw for those seeking this lens can skip MS color as the next shipment is April and they ordered 20 pieces.

Edit: Anyone know where got stock for 50mm at $399 please let me know......

Got mine from Manly this afternoon. Briefly stuck in front of the shop as the sky came down. Here are some shots from outside Manly Photo with a NEX 5N. It's a very contrastly lens. Sony must be learning from Zeiss
