NEX-5R Compact System Camera from Sony Offers More Imaging Power in a Sleeker Body

Then how much is it in total? $1168 or $1087?

Waiting for the arrival of my iPad mini so that I can pair it up with the 5R through PlayMemory Mobile... good combi for traveling and to view photos on the move :)

If you just wish to view low-res photos, go ahead. Do note that the transfer speed ain't that fast too. I would still do the plug and play method because I want to view high-res photos on my larger screen device :)

Isn't there an option to transfer high res pictures on play mobile ?

With the tiny screen resolution of the tablets and the very limited storage space...?

(Why would you want to???)

Yes. Goto Settings -> Playmemories -> Image Quality set to Original.

Agree with you on the high-res but will do that back home on the 55" LED display. On the move, the mini will be about right to view the day's photo for me.

Haha, my bad. Thanks for the note. I've tried and it worked for 'view on smartphone', but if u use the remote app, the preview pic on the phone is still a resized one, at least for my SGS3.

16/32GB with expandable slots (some tablets) is quite alot. Can hold a few albums worth. For now, I put some (not all) of my nicer shots on my phone and show to friends. SGS3 screen is neat enough for photo viewing. On bigger devices, especially with screens of at least 1280px (not to mention retina on the ipad and the even gay-er resolution of the nexus10) length, you can show friends the photos you took on the go, plus easy zooming with pinch-zoom.

I still think transferring wirelessly from camera to device is not that feasible, because it drains alot of battery. At least for now, plug and play is still easier, I feel.

Cool and now try to purchase an app please.

Somehow I really can't justify the cost of those paid apps. The camera already has bracketing and multiframe noise reduction functions already, why need app for that?

I'm sure to purchase the time lapse app when it's out thou...

So how is the multi-frame noise reduction? Can you post a test shot?

I did not buy those apps. I was refering to the "handheld twillight" and "anti-motion blur" scene modes, which are essentially multiframe noise reduction functions...

Because handheld twilight doesn't come with auto hdr haha
