Those ppl at sony could had put them in as firmware upgrade. Instead, they made them into apps for ppl to install. Those apps will and should change how ppl do their post processing on their photo.

More time on shooting and less time on PC.

I wonder will they start to charge for those app?

It is worth noting that the Phase Detect PDAF system of the NEX-5R could reduce the true resolution of the central focus zone by as much as 20% locally (vertical) and raw image interpolation will restore the integrity of the images despite 99 focus points, each one of which uses three different sensel-based phase detect pixel pairs to cope with the range of exit pupil positions found on different lenses. Since the outer zone of any image is usually slightly lower resolution than the centre, the effect will be to make the NEX-5R more even in sharpness/resolution across the frame but lacking the very sharp centre zone normally found.

Highly doubt that, doesn't make sense for them for photography without any native AF lenses.

It's all about the $$$ .. There is no way Sony will make a FF NEX better than their FF DSLR A99 to cannibalize sales; I just don't see it happening. The NEX 7 was a success but Sony prefers to push it aside i.e. no new lenses and probably happy to push the low-end to consumers who would need only one 18-55.

Enjoying the 5R now. I must say the focusing speed is definitely faster than the N that I used to own. I also like the touch to shoot screen function. Overall, happy like bird

Hi, got it from Paris Silk eventually for 1020. But had to pay for a filter @ $22, so total cost is $1042.

Really glad that I didn't buy the earlier sets from US Amazon as those only come with 1855mm lens and not the 1650mm.
