Nex 5 lens alternative

u guys can try pentax 110 lens or contax g lens on the nex body. Good price for the one of the best 35mm lens in the world (contax g) ... i am a big fan. Sharp and close focus as well.

How close is the focus on NEX systems?

hi, for portraits, which one is a better choice for nex, 35mm or 50mm?

Not sure.....perhaps u can try zoom in to both focal lengths and judge for yourself.

Any difference in using Carl Zeiss for Contax G2 45mm/f2 and Carl Zeiss 50mm/f2 Contax/yashica mount for NEX other than the adapter and the focus ring?

So far many reviews praises the Contax G 45mm Planar to be the sharpest for its class :)

hi bros, anyone using the voigtlander Nokton 50mm f/1.1 Lens on the nex??
only pics i see so far are from chiff?

Hi,

I am also interested to see 28mm F2 Ultron in action with Nex

just finished servicing & cleaning my old lens, bought in 1994. My gear was a Nikon FM2 back then :p
happy with the result! the color & detail is very rich, definitely better than nex kit lens itself.
but the focus has to be manual.

Some of my shots taken at Universal Studios. NEX + Contax G Carl Zeiss lenses. See more at my flickr. Quite enjoyable with this setup, since it is compact, the minimum focus is 0.5m and the 45mm Planar is shockingly sharp!

Also, for those considering getting old lenses to adapt for NEX, you may want to check out a test with various lenses over at DPR forums: http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/readflat.asp?forum=1042&thread=37698057

Not really, you can try out with cheap old SLR lenses (depends, but can find great ones >$250 and decent ones >$100 even) first before moving on to others. The main expensive ones are rangefinder lenses, as you see some of the bros here use Leica lenses that costs more than the camera itself. Contax G Zeiss lenses are great because they offer almost the same quality as their M-mount versions, but at a fraction of the price.

I only started using Manual last december. Yes, in the beginning it is difficult because some of us (especially those coming from PnS background) may be used to handling the camera single-handedly and just click click! anywhere. After a while though, it gets really easy and rewarding.

Hi guys, what adapter do I use to mount the nikkor 50mm f1.4 on NEX 5?

Nah. U can get cheap one from B&S. I remember I bought one old SLR lens for only $40. Can also consider cheap rangefinder lenses. Such as Jupiter or voigtlander.

Everyone was once a beginner!
