ahh i see..i thought this camera body has image stabilization. i was hoping to put my 20mm on this new body...so u guys are saying this new gm1 body is not much better than the gf3 right? if so, then i better don't buy

took it out for family outing MBS to merlion and back...when i had GX1, i usually carry only 20mm because my 12-50(olympus ) and 14-45(pana)kind of "bulky" and average IQ..today hardly felt the camera in my bag..quite happy so far http://www.flickr.com/photos/23318005@N08/sets/72157638686897365/

GX1 is 2yr old tech...so GM1's definitely upgrade in most aspects..only gripe is not much grip..i heard from TK the metal optional grip may cost close to 200 dollars...hope its closer to 100..and no spare batt available original or third party...

any idea where to get the lowest price of gm1? and care to share how is your practical experience with it?? i am thinking of getting one as well.. prefer to go with another person who is buying too so that we may get a cheaper price as friends haha..

RRP is 999 (i believe Courts, Best,HN will say the same..if got "offer" 999 may yield some extra useless freebies like lousy tripod, or small dri cab

when you ask them for a really good price, they will quote you in the region of 925 standard gifts

For the big stores,when you say so and so selling 850 cash and 868 credit card(eg quote the shop TK), depend on who you get, some seasoned salesperson will see dat u really want and have done research and will usually say they check with supervisor...then usually they will match...if u want installment, you can get from big electronic shops..if not u can get from usual like TK and maybe MS or other reputed small shops..for 878 i got usual gifts plus screen protector plus 16gb SD on top of the free 8gb..the best price is 850 cash so far...hope the info helps

it's a strip down version of GX7 (no IS, no EVF, no grip) but has the best IQ in panasonic camera so far. Which is certainly better than gf3. you should try to handle it first, as it may be too small for some with big hands. The built quality is a lot better than Gf3, it's pitched as a premium camera with it's magnesium alloy construction. And the kit lens is pretty good too and small with OIS.

If comparing against the GF3 , yes, the GM1 beats it in IQ. The sensor is GM1 is basically similar to the GX7 , a much more updated sensor found in the GF3.

If u r into IS and Pana bodies , I'm afraid only GX7 provides in body IS.

Budget does not allow even to buy GX7.
GM1 is best, and can cater to absolute novice as well.

I think based on the leather jacket model number the T should be Tan and V should be violet.

Standard is a 8gb card , a Half leather case with strap (look at mercurysio's post) and a RWS membership. Some of the bros here managed to get a 16gb card and a screen protector on top of these.
