Anywhere selling just the lens alone?
Sorry guys. Just got to this post... will go back to the topic...
Wonglp, did you manage to get some event pictures? And of the GM-1 in its various versions?
heard from panasonic marketing guy, there's no lens only option.Anywhere selling just the lens alone?
my dealer told me its sold as a kit first and then the lens alone version after a month or 2.
looking forward to the Dec 3 cause wonglp's bringing his GM1 along, nothing beats handling the camera physically![]()
Was at the launch on friday, this camera though is targeted more for ladies, in fact I feel it's good as 2nd body for those who already owned say a more "pro-is" body say EP5/Em1/GH3 , for those who want to bring out light with smaller lenses (20mm, 14mm, 45mm), even 12-35mm feels too big on this.
The white version (shot with GM1+kit lens)

thanks for sharing!
The white one with a brown or black half casing's the one i'm aiming for. The 12-32 when extended does really look a bit too big on the GM1.

Pairing it up w/ a 14/2.5 or 20/1.7 will be good options too.
I'm a bit worried that the 'white' leather portions will be easily dirtied though :dunno:
so far still keeping my fingers from ordering from amazon or HKHoping local street prices will be competitive like when GX7 was released

out in HK liao? cheaper?
There was a model show, lighting was rather hard to use with kit lens, luckily i brought a couple. Had to use quite a bit of Olympus 45mm/1.8, but as there's no body stabilizer, some shots was blurred. A couple which is ok. Some highlights and shadows recovery. ISO800, Olympus 45/1.8. 1/125s http://www.flickr.com/photos/24674993@N07/11134147395/ ISO1600, Olympus 45/1.8, 1/125s http://www.flickr.com/photos/24674993@N07/11134133495/ Denise Keller was the host. ISO 800, Olympus 45/1.8, 1/200s. Some banding can be seen, realize this when shooting in Electronic shutter at speeds faster than say 1/100s, mechanical shutter is ok. Artificial lighting conditions. http://www.flickr.com/photos/24674993@N07/11134158986/

Hmm, I'm surprised to hear about the banding with 45/1.8 but for shake its difficult to handle it since the camera doesn't come with IS.
WongLP, sorry but since u also have the GX7 and these 2 are supposed to have the same sensors were the performance between the GM1 and GX7 similar ?
Reading up and I realized the GM1'd scene modes are also kinda interesting with choices like : Cute Dessert vs Appetizing food, Romantic sunset glow vs Vivid sunset glow etc.
I am __________________________________________________, sigh...
They generate some cute graphics to go with the picture like those cellphone apps? Heeheehee... that I have to see..

IQ is similar, that means very goodSo nice till speechless? ;p A couple more Denise Keller, some quick edits done (highlights/shadows) With P12-35/2.8 @ f2.8, ISO1000, http://www.flickr.com/photos/24674993@N07/11134195484/ With P12-35/2.8 @ f2.8, ISO 800 http://www.flickr.com/photos/24674993@N07/11134209754/ With P12-35/2.8 @ f2.8, ISO 800 http://www.flickr.com/photos/24674993@N07/11134220614/
Is there any pictures of the bronze/gold with blue croc skin one?
The pictures seem to whisper in my ear to use the GM1 with another lens instead of the 12-32 haha.
In good light kit lens is more than capable, since I had 12-35 why not hahathe kit lens does have OIS btw, except a switch. I find at 12mm the performance seems typical kit but at 32mm, it's really good. Hope to play and test more. Meantime, @ 32mm another cat shot, wide open. http://www.flickr.com/photos/24674993@N07/11005432915/
