Yep.. why dont they just offer NTSC/PAL switchable. VK and the team who did the GH2 hacks proved it was within the firmware.. so the HW and SW can accomodate. Its just a artificial method to prevent grey marketing etc..

I think I read somewhere in clubsnap before It's due to differing legislation in regions which demarcates whether will the device end up being labelled as a camera or video recording device. Especially when it comes to maximum lengths for recording. I'm guessing here obviously.
And for Pana, it's always been clear they work to prevent gray marketing with their warranty policies.

Sure, makes kind of sense to sell the European models to Asian PAL countries even though we aren't part of the EU
where a device which can record more than 29.9 min. gets taxed as a recording device so artists get their part of the cake. Anyway, never really understood why manufacturers make such a big deal because of the few extra cents they [the customer] would have to pay.

Still charging lah ... I tried to use my GH3 battery but it doesn't fit .. different size ... Hahaha
Why can't Panny standardise all the batteries size ?

I'm not a GX7 expert as I'd only used it for around a week before letting it go.
I haven't seen a hand grip for the GX but It already does have a good grip
u need a grip for extended batt life or ? Will let u know if I come across a good grip for it.
The GX7's batt is rated for approx 320 shots vs the GH3's close to 540 shots in a single full charge hence there prob will be a noticeable difference.
