Actually as long as there is a power plug, you can do timelapse.

Just buy those power products like Goalzero where you have a lithium or acid based battery pack that outputs AC current. Bring along solar panels and you can possibly do months of time lapse.

If someone can just break that battery code, link the lithium battery to an external power pack, then you do not need a usb charging port. But realistically you should just get those goalzero power packs.

Well, if you even bother to look around the website, there is a 0.5kg version for 50whr at usd199.

If my memories serve me right, there are dc to ac invertors. I can easily build a power pack for 50~100whr, use an invertor and make a 3 plug UK AC output at a cheaper price than usd199, maybe nearer to usd80~100

It is priceless to get an awesome timelapse result. Your comment is also priceless.

will you be kind enough to let me how how to activate the green horizontal line ?

I have been looking & fiddling with the menu screen but without success ...

here you go. Hope I'm right that u were referring to the tilt-sensor display. Had sold my GX7 long long ago so now i can't test either.

I don't have an OIS lens to test but I read that the lens OIS always take over. If you turn off OIS on lens, there will be no stabiliser at all.

Easy to apply and applied it on GX7 for both my friend and myself within 10 seconds each. No touch screen sensivity issue and looks good. Keep one for spare myself now.

The reason I cannot find it earlier bcos I thought it was set thru the menu settings. I thought I did it that way on my GH3. Obviously, I was wrong as the green horizontal line came out after pressing the DISP button.

U shouldn't switch both on together, it will cause issues. For Pana lenses there r 2 types , one with a switch for IS one without. For the GX7 I'd advise that U switch the lens IS off and keep the body IS on.

For lenses without the switch like the 14-42x zoom. I'm not clear as the GX7's the first body with built in IS.

Thanks Keith ... that means I have been wrong liao.

I also have a problem then ... my panasonic lens usuallly comes with switch. I used them on my GH3. So I turn the switch on the lens to ON.

But when comes to GX7, if I have to turn the switch on the lens to OFF everytime I change from GH3 to GX7 and vice-versa, that will be quite troublesome bcos I will often forget.

Can I, on the GX7 then, turn the IS on the body to off then on the lens to ON ?

In short, its probably an safety feature that in the GX7, lens OIS will supersede in case both IS systems are switched on. Hence RyanKhoo , can leave both switched on since lens IS will take over.

in short, I agree with what kel77 shared with the need for an update but no matter what, its a good thing that Panasonic is catching up by released a body with built-in stabilisation.
