This is very true. Nowadays the competition among the diff brand is stiff, and being electronic items, prices can only come down. Plus people can shop online from overseas, so the difference between regions cannot be too large. I think some bros go to our neighbour msia to hoot fujifilm cam too.

nowadays retailers have a sophisticated strategy to market their product launch so as to create perceived scarcity/exclusivity so that not just the typical early adopters, but more of the general considered, will yearn and desire to own the product)

actually i am keen to get X-T1 (switch from OMD EM5) but now X-T10 looks more enticing for me since I dun really need weather seal and other mojo.

Not sure what is the price difference between XT1 and XT10. Need to check it out before deciding

X-T10 pre order is $1299 (body only)
X-T1 black body is $1753 (price quote from MSColor)
X-T1 graphite silver body $2045 (price quote from MSColor)
for weather seal + some mojo that X-T10 doesn't have, it doesn't worth to pay $500 more to buy brand new... This price savings can invest on XF lenses instead.
And second hand X-T1 is going around $1200-1300 for the black body... might as well get a brand new newer model X-T10.

Maybe XT2 is on the way. Assuming if they give 1 lens as gift (18mm f2 or 27mm f2.8) then very worth to get XT1

Amazon Japan don't ship direct. If you add shipping and GST, maybe not worth

Just make sure one weighs the pros and cons ok.
For example yes , Amazon Japan or US may sell the X-T10 slightly cheaper but this means u are not entitled to any of the promotional items at all. And u will be liable for freight , GST and a wait.
Yes, they are covered by international warranty so long as it's a proper authorized distributor.
For me I just prefer to buy local - check and test until I'm happy , take all the freebies since they are useful to me anyway.

OK - I've gone around to Funan to ask the different shops. The camera is likely to arrive on 18 June.
Some of the shops offer the PWP discount to their respective street price on the lens, as opposed to Fujifilm's MSRP. For these shops I'd recommend you to go and ask directly, as I believe it is inappropriate for me to announce their street prices here.

Thanks for this useful information. If off retailer price, then it could be good deal. I would assume if a bro bought pre order and he buy one lens himself with two bro buying lens, each of the lens will be $200 off and the bro who pre order will get $400 off. Am I right?

Yeah, that actually sounds like a really good arrangement. Only issue is that the lenses must not overlap.
