I totaled the names signed up....doesn't tally with the list here....some have already left? Or... anyone "bon-tang"(skip class)?

Wow!

The photos are great! So sad that I missed this outing =.=lll

Sorry Kevin >.< for missing the outing. Had a on-off fever for two days.
I think I really miss out alot!

some pulled out due to last-min work commitment (boss asked him to fly overseas), some didn't feel well enough to make it.
some fly aeroplane (where's my co-organizer???)

but overall a fantastic turnout...!

Just update some of the name i remember...

Hi SoulFLY! I got the idea from your minimalistic shots actually. Yup, i've been lurking in your photo thread. Will try more minimalistic shots in future. Thanks for the inspiration. :D

BTW, yes i think a bit more space below as wildcat also suggested would make the composition stronger. A bit too tight perhaps down below.

Just a question... Do you guys think colour adds anything or changes the interpretation of the picture in this case?:

Canoe Colour

Nice in color too but its a the yellow (canoe) and red (skin tone) is a little saturated. Toning down this two color would be better.

Dont let the color control the better the composition.. Need to balance...;)

Cheers,
Thomas

I believe understanding the foundation of how these impactful pictures work is very important also.

You are right..:)

My humble newbie shots.. Pls do comment and advice, thanks very much !

Thanks for Dingaroo for lending me his filter.. hehe:)

Watch your horizon I think. Seems quite tilted.

I think the composition is quite messy with all the streaking lines and ghost images. Zooming in and out is hard to pull off nicely I think.

i missed a nice outing! good shots everyone!

Yes, that's what I myself feel too. The sun pic is taken w/o a tripod and w/o the filter holder.. But I'll take note of that in future.

The zooming in and out is quite tricky too.. This is my first time doing this.. haha:)

Anyway, thanks for your advice. !

Everything hangs upon that one single bud in the foreground, pointing to the left in line with the cameras and street lights like camera flashes.

Nice one bro Dingaroo!

Thanks!

Was there early, and even though the sky wasn't spectacular, but I love the golden reflection of the water waves kind make it pop.

Need more practice myself.

Cheers!

Sorry to miss the group shots, was shooting near the bridge when realising you guys were already taking your position:S
Really enjoyed the outing yesterday and indeed they were passer-bys asking me if there were some superstar dropping by since gangs of paparazzi were hiding in the bush (us)!!!
Also thanks Zerocool, dingaroo, qit-ta and kam289, nice chatting with you. Special thanks to sf_kang for the great story he told, what's more for letting me try out different lenses!

Ghaz1, I like this shot!Thank you coz you've been giving some advice since the previous outing. Shanekua, also thanks for the tips. I like your shots? But where did you post them?

Errr...actually my lens caught up with the dust, parts of my pics were spoilt! (cry)

Don't cry... you can use photoshop, lightroom or any other PP software to get rid of the dust particles in the pictures.

Bro Numnumball, your group pic is very well taken! Did you specifically told everyone to keep still for that 1 sec? :D

Hope got chance to learn from you in the near future.

Thanks Buddy, gald it turned out well as i was abt to think 1/2s abit too long for most to maintain their "黑人牙膏笑容" :sweatsm::sweatsm:
