I din say those expensive types obviously. I was referring to those cheapo no brand tripods, where people think they can cut corners so they get those.
hahah that's what I thought.

Most of us are poor photogs, or unwilling to spend too much
The "premium" brands such as Gitzo are a bit out of our reach :)

Thankss..thats why im saving up now...been reading bout benro and maybe wanna buy this "Package 4 -- Carbon Fibre Tripod M258 + head KB-1A + padded tripod bag"...any kind soul possibly can PM me for testimonial :bsmilie:

have fun with ur outings

thanks..
Should be quite ok :)
I have the M-258 legs as well, but not that head. If you are getting, perhaps can ask Jack (the boss) if can 'tumpang' another KB-1 head for a cheap cheap price :)

Me noob, me wan join and learn more :(.
Haiz...

A learning mind is a mind who always thinks he is a noob and willing to take in more :D.
Compare to goat landscape, mine is still not good enough.

Is Benro rated under those cheapo no brand tripods? I too am consider Benro even tho I hv a manfrotto now. Too heavy...... =(

ar **** !... my dad forgotten to bring back the velbon tripod from his office !... ****.. no choice then, i gotta bring my cheapo tripod...

Don't swear!! :)
haha ok see ya.

As long as weather is not terrible (ie drizzle with chance of clear skies) we'll go ahead with the outing. Fingers crossed of course.

Benro is actually really quite good already. The general guideline is the max tripod weight it can support should be about 1 kg more than your total gear weight. Ie. If you gear is 1.5 kg, get a tripod that supports at least 2.5 kg

Benro tripods, from their shop at Excelsior, are quite good!

See you all this evening!
Hope nobody forgot to bring their camera gear, otherwise I'll :kok: you!! :)

some forget to bring it from home in the morning, so after work they don't have enough time to go home and get their stuff before the outing...
it's happened quite often before! :) (not to me, of course...)

Actually best is to do a 2x estimation. If weight of your heaviest camera setup is 1.5kg. get a support setup with max weight rating of 3kg.

bringing a cheapo tripod.. okay right ??

Up to you as long as you know the risks to your gear (stong wind blow all tumble down) and the risk to your shots (strong wind blow all blur or not very sharp). And of course depends on your definition of cheap? Someone using Gitzo may find my Benro "cheap". :dunno:

And CHARGE your batteries! :bsmilie:

did that last nite!

anyway are you gonna start walking from liesurepark to the meetup point at 6pm? really need? 45mins to walk there? lol

anyway i'll be there by 630pm at liesurepark, if u want to walk-and-chat pm me ur hp :)

Better not. Use your SZ tripod first and look at the models and setups used by the other shooters. There's so many combinations, so mind-boggling some times. The tripod legs is one thing, the head is another. See a good combi for you to use and fits your budget then get it.
