If you are a newbie, you are expected to ask questions about anything you are not familiar with. The seniors are all very friendly folks. They will try their best to help.

don't scared don't scared... not national stadium la...
Indoor Stadium large enough? :)

we have lots of seniors this time. If too crowded, we will split the group up a bit so that everyone doesn't get in each other's way.

You will need to book the Stadium with specific time & date for shooting inside. You can
enquired from Singapore Sports Council : 6345 7111 for more detail.

If this is possible, would be outstanding! BTW, can also go to makan at Leisurepark Burger King. Should be empty on a Wed night. ;)

For those of you driving, please note that Leisure park offers 2 hour free parking on weekdays in the day (before 5 or 6pm). But after that, it becomes hourly. There is "less than legal" parking near the cage (if you know where that is). I will not be driving that day, preferring to leave the car with my family so they can use it.

As for views, so far, I think the best night shot area is the pedestrian bridge that links the Tanjong Rhu condo area to indoor stadium. You can opt to park "less than legally" along that round about on Tanjong Rhu side.

Dear all,

I believe that fuji may be referring to myself. But nonetheless, I would like to clarify matters to ease the tension. It was my first outing so being a blur newb me and not very open and out going during since all are strangers at that moment (i believe not everyone is that out going at first). So I didnt know the sequence of structure of the outing and what to do next and the seniors are other than kevin who is really busy most of the time helping ppl out. However there was a stranger whom i made frend with and seems like a senior so gotten some tips from him during the outing.

After an hour plus of shooting and everyone seems to be gone, I decided to take my leave as I had something on thinking that it's probably the end of the outing other than a makan session after that.

It's kinda like a long story but in short I would sincerely apologise if my unintented actions have caused many disturbance. I'm genuinely a newbie. Wonder if fuji received my pm?

However I really do appreciate all these outings organized by seniors. I really didnt mean to stir up such misunderstanding and definitely not to rob newbies of their places.

Again, really deeply sorry and hope to join u guys for the next outing. I really come in peace. Hope this clear all misunderstandings and I wun be outcast. Really interested in photography since i bought my first dslr couple of months back. Cheers!

I am keeping this reply short and sweet.

I am not targetting at anyone particularly in my whole entire conversation here.

Most importantly, i dunno who you are. I have no or little recollection of you.

Thank you for expressing yourself FREELY here!

Part and parcel of organising outings bro. Nevertheless the benefits outweight the negatives IMO. We all learn in time.

After shooting for about an hour +, we will break for dinner, where we will offer a chance for critique of selected shots. This will give people a chance for some immediate feedback into possible 'faults'.
Even though I may read up and learn as much as possible without being spoon feed...
This is something that one can't learn from books, mags or websites. Critique of the photos that were taken.

Having to look at your own photos and as well as others. Allow for a broader and faster way up the learning curve. Under the same circumstances (eg ambient, access) what are the photos we are able to produce. This is why it will be best that the seniors should take photos together with the newbies. Showing how to do it and what can be achieved will be much easier than just plainly telling how. The chance of not only looking at your own but other as well allow you to look into other way of doing things and as well as different perspective or ways into looking at things on top of learning from each other mistakes, shortfall, weakness or strength...etc.

With a 2 way interactive learning for both newbies and seniors... senior will probably gain something and further his own craft too.

The immediate feedback is better than uploading it onto the net later for critique. You can still remember clearly what you have done or not done, the circumstances you are in and most importantly without the aid of any photo processing software.

However, it seems like everyone is painfully shy.... which makes such outing less enriching as it should have been....

hahaha no la... I wouldn't say painfully shy. I know that day we only saw your shots on my laptop.
Seems like everyone was happily chatting away... :) Also we ended the shooting quite late.

If we have a quiet place and we can occupy one entire section (burger king @ leisure park sounds like a good idea), we'll try to have a more coordinated critique session.
