Gee, I had seafood at Jumbo last night ;p Yup, it was (supposedly) not only the birth place of chili crabs, Roland's godfather (Mr Lim) and his wife (Mdm Cher) were also the creators of the above dish, crispy baby squids & sotong you tiao. However, the original chili crab was very different ~ sweet and without sambal or eggs. Mdm Cher used to be there, a very nice lady and said to be the woman behind all the recipes.
That Mr Lim used to be a Police in shorts haha
Thought Roland god father was Sin Leong Restaurant Boss?
Maybe he got many god father hehe
Sorry typo error, Mr Lim (the policeman who wore shorts) is the father, Sin Leong is the godfather. Iirc Roland Restaurant was originally Sin Leong Restaurant, renamed after Roland's take over.
The chili crabs still looks  Perhaps taking it from another angle, with the shell in the back?

Chili Crab
Roland Restaurant
Didn't re-style my crab to make it look like a crab. Just took the photo as how it was served.
I don;t eat crab...so not much to comment. Rating base on the sauce only :bsmilie:
The sauce was great when paired with my mini fried man tou. Not too sweet like some other places

Hi ronnie_gogs,
I think you should create a thread and post your photo there showing all your nice photos rather then post it here
btw your food photo looks a bit soft and watch your wb too![]()
Oh dear, having steak to pass time?:sweat:
I remember the original Han's in my neighborhood in Springleaf some 20 years ago, it was inexpensive and yet delicious, the breakfast set of toast with bacon/ham/egg + coffee or tea was only $3.50... Those were the days....
