Normally wat kind of equipments are needed for shooting? A tele lens? tripod for the day?

that depends on your style. i would say (i'm quite a newbie with digital so take it with a pinch of salt) a telezoom with a focal length of at least 200mm, a wide angle lens, and a portrait lens for the cute kids and interesting people you see at the zoo!

I only have a 50mm portrait lens (and my 18-135 kit lens) though, so i go there a sad boy.:cry:

IMHO i don't think a tripod is necessary. unless your telephoto doesn't have VR and its not a bloody bright and sunny day.

haha eh zhun bo, newbie outing we shoot so many different lens for them to bring. unless they are the newbies with moola or generous parents i'm neither. haha

I applied for the wildlife unlimited plus card. So it's free parking and entrance. The zoo is on my way home from work, so I try to drop-by in the late afternoon if I have a stressful day at work.

Your kit lens is already 18-135, good already. Mine is 18-55 nia. No tripod, prepare to shoot handheld.

18-55mm isn't that 'Long' a range..... no tripod needed. Good to have IS/VR.... but not must have for a lens of this range. :thumbsup:
