With the 15X zoom, of course they are being seen very the up...but my point is, without IS/OIS/VR(which these 3 meant almost the same thing in laymen's term), it is as good as nothing, and with that kind of price (S$1,800), I certainly can get much better than their new camera.

So, unless they have IS/OIS/VR equivalent thing, and price is competitive with other Prosumer cam, they will still not there yet...

I hope you won't have to eat your words when the camera hits the stores :bsmilie: Till this day, prosumers are a big hit even with DSLR users because they can cover a wide range without carrying extra lenses. So the appeal / market is still there. Comparing Cam A to Cam B, I would say that if you need a converter to make Cam A equivalent to Cam B, that in itself speaks alot about the capability of Cam B, isn't it?

Anyway, for your info, Sony and Samsung signed an agreement to share technology. In fact, there has been speculation that this camera is meant to replace the Sony F828. Whether this is true or not remains to be seen.

As for the price, it is so very suspicious that the estimated price is SO close to Sony's past pricing when they released the F707, F717 and F828. This leads to even more speculation that this could be the successor to the F828.

Luckily they didn't implement IS/OIS/VR on this cam. Else a lot of people will be really feel threatened. :bsmilie:

No wonder all my pics sux bad .... my cams do not have any of those stuff!

From some of the opinion here, it seems like Lumix is the BEST camera in the world  Maybe I should sell my DSLR and get a Lumix instead.

I sold Lumixes twice to buy DSLR, but then bought a Lumix to pair with my DSLR.

Nothing is best in this world, else the rest will not survive already.

I have both Lumix and DSLR, just as I guessed when I bought DSLR, the Lumix comes in handy when I do not wish to carry extra lens, and it has the OIS feature, which is absolutely a plus!

So, don't sell your DSLR, you will need it, and go and get another Lumix, since it is also good for some of the scenario...

just curious, what do u guys use DSLR for? when needing shallow DOF? or when shooting macro, or what? I've found that DSLR only good for noise and AF...

just curious if the Pro815 has been launched in SG? the specs look extremely impressive (even without IS features). :)
