I just went to EastGear this afternoon to get some a batt.

Went with my friend bought 2 and no discount leh

Anyway, with no offense or whatsoever, upon reaching back to my office i inspected it and the packing looks like it's opened up before. Finger prints and scratchy plastic. Opened it up, batt has finger prints too and the contact points look not new.

Don't know, just mentioning what i have on hand. Probably customers opened up before. So really, hope u dont take it the wrong way.

Could have been me... I returned one battery before becos like you, I noticed that they were not newish looking. The packaging can be opened and resealed many times so it's easy to take the battaries out. But so far mine is working okay. I was wondering if these were reconditioned battaries, hope they will last at least a year.

Maybe for a couple of bucks more can go get some Megapowers instead.

Are the BP511 supposed to be fully charged when bought new? I bought 2 of them today, and one of them seems to be already fully charged straight from the box. Or did I get something I shouldn't?

logically manufacturers will half-charge the batteries before shipping, because Li-Ion batts achieve the best shelf life at that charge.
