Wonder how big is your bandwidth from Starhub? The bottleneck is on the Server hardware or the Leased line? It seems that the current comfortable browsing speed is less than 100 users.

The comfortable "zone" is definitely more than 100 users. This lagginess only happens during late nights around 10pm-12midnite.

We have just upgraded our server and its definitely not the reason. Also we are always constantly monitoring our network traffic and theres nothing unusual about it too.

We are still checking on the possible causes like software and OS configuration though.

Of course theres one other possible reason which is the "chok" is not our server or rack causing it. It may be the IDC router that is overloaded.

I believe all ISPs do provide the MRTG chart for customer. If yes, it will be able to tell whether the bandwidth usage of CS at 10pm - 12am is saturated.

If it is saturated, it'll be clearly a bandwidth issues. If not, the CPU and Memory resource usage at the server will indicate whether it is a hardware limitation. I believe you've already checked since you mentioned that Server is not the cause.

Traceroute to your site from various ISPs is pretty healthy, with that I think it is left with only the Application that I think it may need more fine tunning. Thanks.

If bandwidth utilisation is low, and CPU/Memory utilisation is also low, it should point to a Linux/PHP/MySQL bottleneck. Maybe should do some tuning on the database/OS and PHP?
