Wat? So nid to pay? Sketchy details.

think don't need to pay bah. just called Fuji service centre and leave my contacts with them.

dont tink so. its a replacement from them. not repair.

think i will hold my judgment till the confirmation news is out, as to whether it will be FOC change of the sensor or the need to pay for the current sensor.

hope they are really careful when transplanting the new sensor, and dun add in additional dust or dirt into the chamber.

My concern too! Fuji have good intention to retain loyal cust.

i hope fuji SG would practice the same. based on all the negative review lately from Fuji service center, i am a bit skeptical how long it does take to change the sensor. and would they be able to do a good job ?

Yup, hope they are well trained to do a good job.

Just left my details with Fuji for the X10... They seem to not have the detail yet for the sensor replacement...

They seem to not have the detail yet for the sensor replacement...

because it is April now :)
even if the sensor is ready now, I would not rush to get ti replaced. will wait for more user review, god knows the new sensor might do away the orbs but then give u another problem..

I am not really a fan of this change yet... Cause I am really afraid they might introduce dust while installing... It would not be the same as factory clean state of installation...

Well we'll see... :)

Years back I had 2 fujis2pro then went to service center for sensor change due to 'sudden' death issue of sensor. Both came back fine without any issues and served me well. It was also free cos its sensor problem, not cause by user. So have some confident in them.

For the feedbacks abt the sensor, i suppose we can get the update from other sources, like those in europe etc. they might get the sensor replace before us. I do worry abt the dust part, hopefully they will do a good replacement and clean up .

I just really hope Fuji a will test the new sensor rigorously. I don't think they can afford not to deliver less than a vastly improved new sensor. I mean after all this fuss they must improve it significantly or it will be a gigantic embarrasment.
I'm rather afraid that the new sensor, even if addressing the white orb issue, will be worse in other ways though. Especailly because they surely are in a big hurry now. Not that getting the new sensor a week or two later would matter at all. It's the quality which matters above all. In fact my opinion is that there is quite some room for image quality improvements among some other things. Is it just wishful thinking that they help those too?:) Well I don't think they can let quality issues unamended...

Agree and fear for dust

surely the guys at fuji would be able to do a good job replacing the sensor without introducing dust or any other damage? ive got no experience on this matter, but this was just wat i was assuming :) im planning on getting the x10 next week, and then getting the sensor replaced once i read some reviews on the new sensor.. i hope that changing it wont cause any problems!

Is there a deadline where we must change the sensor?

Is there a deadline where we must change the sensor?

Deadline from u or from fuji? Anyway I hear nothing from fuji Singapore. They did not give me any black and white on foc sensor replacement or whatever. In short, nothing has been promised.

Anyway I think dust upon sensor replacement should be the last thing that we x10 owners should be worrying about. All to say is if there is really a new sensor coming on the way.

So fuji sg has not announced any plans to offer free sensor change?
