New photo leaks of OM-D

Olympus OMD EM5 - YouTube

hope that is ok to post that here. i just want to say that it looks small! the way he handles it, from the pics it looked like it is very big for an m4/3

and his hand fits very well with the battery grip.. its just a guess from the vid. good for those people who love the ergonomics or a large grip

Thanks for posting the interview video! It is very informative. I am on the other end of the size preference spectrum: I find the stripped down "basic" OMD just nice. It should feel just right with medium sized lenses like the 12mm f/2.0 and 25mm f/1.4!

What Olympus probably did again is buy a **** tonne of 16MP sensors to keep costs down (which is why the E-M5 is relatively inexpensive), but because they bought so many, they will take forever to sell.

Expect in 8 months for plenty of E-M5s to be sold at 2/3 of the sales price, all because they HAD to release an E-M6 or whatever by Christmas.

Yes, it reminds me of the period when Apple was buying PowerPC processors from Motorola. They had to choose between Motorola and IBM and neither one ended up caring much. Apple got whatever was the latest to put into their bigger machines and made do with the rest.

Olympus can't go far to buy. Perhaps, the sensor in the OM-D E-M5 is not Panasonic's, though it probably is but with a tweak to the readout speed. I'd really think they'd get someone from the camera phone business interested since they're accustomed to making more happen with less. If you could have one of those companies put their technology to work in a much larger surface area, the results might be quite amazing.
