New Forum features that are interesting

Another quite useful feature ... not sure if anyone noticed ...

In all the views (including searches), posts which are new (say within 24 hrs) but which you have already viewed, does not have the downward pointing arrow (
firstnew.gif
) thus at a glance, you can see how many of the recent posts you have already viewed.

I would very much like the old home page, where we are given all the latest posts irregardless of which forum topics they are from, with any frontpage news and articles alongside, all on the same page.

Currently, clicking on the 'home' and 'forum' function buttons on the top of the page shows the same page of forums of various topics. Quite superfluous I think.

Click on the "get new" button to get the latest posts across ALL forums. The "home" button is currently set to link back to the forums as the main portal page is still under construction. Would appreciate the patience from all members.

4. Thread/Post preview - hovering your mouse over a thread/post title gives you the first 300 characters of the thread/post

Guess what...this features is so great for dial up user like me. I am so used to it until........

.......when go to other forums, I will also place my mouse pointer over a thread title and wait.......then wonder why nothing pop up

:embrass:

under the 'latest discussion' panel on the home page, I would suggest to keep the old system, where the name of author of the newest post is shown. Currently, the name of the thread starter is shown, which is not very useful.
