You could also consider the 28 Ultron. It's a lot of lens for it's price.

Zeiss jsut anounced the delay of their shipment of Zeiss Ikon Body and 21, 15 lenses to Aug 2005. 85 to Sept 2005.

The scans are coming along slowly, I should have them all by Mon or Tues but for now this is the only sample taken with the 35 Biogon... about 1/30 f/2 thereabouts , handheld.

Hi Terence,

The sharp-unsharp rendition of this lens seems very similar to the 35 ASPH cron. Nice!

Thanks, and for less than half the price of the cron :)

Interesting food! Maybe we should do a side-by-side comparison with the 35 cron, seems indistinguishable from the web image.

I'm looking to buy the 21/2.8, hope the price is affordable.

Sure thing, I've got nothing but high regards from the crons, the 35 is no exception. My only gripe is its price.

The 21/2.8 is going for a pre release price of approx S$1600! But still cheaper than the Leica I guess, if that's any consolation.

Just checked with Pro Photo: Latest quoted prices...

Zeiss Ikon Body (Chrome) - S$2,600 (Japan)
ZI 35mm f/2 - S$1,740 (Japan)
ZI 85mm f/2 - S$4,600 (German) - no stock yet

Cannot believe the outrageous price for the 85mm f/2 - even more expensive than a Leica-M Summicron 90mm f/2 APO ASPH????

i think they are still dreaming la..

this type of pricing see how many they can sell lor..

2.6k + 1.7k for a set..

Dr Joseph Yao has good pricing on ZI. About USD895 for the 35/2, or about S$1,450.
