Yes, IS works with a 3rd party TC, tested with 100L and Kenko 2x coz my Canon EF 2x Extender won't fit the 100L.

I using same stuff as u.the adaptor if i not wrong is not out yet.when i made the upgrade i panick because can't mount the flash.so i diy.used a step down ring plus a cokin A adaptor.but cannot screw fully else flash can't grip so i use a rubber band to help me tighten the 2 rings.cheap and it works fine.

Just wondering if anyone else is currently using the Tamron 90mm macro and is considering to move towards this 100mm L lens? So far, personally I'm quite happy with the Tamron one but wondering if its worth the money to upgrade to this new canon lens.

Any advantages to upgrade to this new lens? (not counting the 'red' ring or obvious IS function).

I was using a tamron 90mm macro and jumped at the chance to upgrade to it. Its way sharper, the bokeh and colors are better, AND it doesn't have to 'move'? i find the tamron's focusing slower.

just got mine this evening, CLICK Lifestyle Pte Ltd, Tampines 1. Tel : 6260 4350. do call before coming as they dont keep or display it there, i placed a deposit and was told to collect next day. slightly ex compared to the rest of 'reputable' shops (approx $15 more)

I actually thought of the same thing when the 100 mm HIS lens was first announced.

However, after some thoughts, I figured the 100 mm lens is a better option:

(i) cheaper, lighter

(ii) one can easily add a 1.4x extender (since this macro lens is already wickedly sharp) to obtain an EFL of 100 x 1.4 x 1.6 = 224 mm

you are so damn right... some savings too.. prob is the 100mm is out of stock everywhere...
and wif the extender... does it loose its weather sealing?...

If you are willing to splurge on the extender, the Canon version is weather-sealed as indicated here. :bsmilie:

I just got this lens ... but seems like the AF got some problem ... it keeps doing lens drive and many times and it cannot focus on the object properly even when I used center focusing.

Is this the way this lens is, or there's some problem with it?
