Been searching a few places but no shop seem to carry any stock. Anyone got recommendation where I can get one?

I was in the same situation as you for the past couple of week. My search ended 3days ago when I stumbled upon CP at marina square and saw the lens sitting pretty in the showcase & waving at me.

I don't know if there are anymore sets there because I didn't ask

Just bought mine from Parisilk for 1284. :)

What lens did you compare it against. I still think that the 135mm f1.8 L is shaprper. :o

first of all there is no lens such as 135 f1.8, do u mean f2?

I have compared them with my 70-200 f4L IS + 85mm f1.8. Technically the MTF result is lower than of the 70-200, however in real life usage this lens is noticably sharper in my opinion, too bad the AF is much slower as this is a macro lens. :D:D

Wow...so fast...someone is selling away this piece of glass at Buy/Sell. :D

Hi! Happy New Year to all! Does anyone knows how much this lens is selling in Singapore (average) currently? Thanks in advance.

S$1284 SLR Revolution and S$1300 MS.

for those who intend to like to use credit card or 0% credit card installments, Cathay is selling the lens at $1350 nett without other extra charges

May I know how you get this price? Did you ask them at the store or was it an e-quote?

i asked them at the store... the marina square branch.

But how often would you need F2 in a macro lens? Unless you use it mainly for portaits but then, if you do, you have plenty of choices with other lenses.
Just a thought.

If you want EF 100mm f/2.8 macro but do not want to pay the premium for the new HIS L lens, perhaps you will need to hurry. CanonRumors is saying this lens has been discontinued.

I actually bought an used copy of 100mm f2.8 Marco in mint condition for less than S$600/- at TCW with 3 mths shop warranty. Nice lens with capability to go near or far, really versatile lens. I am happy with it.

f/2 on a macro would be useful for hand held and selective focusing shots.

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread but Canon has blown me away with this release.

It has taken me quite a while to get hold of this lens 'cos it's always sold out. And I now know why. :bsmilie:

This is one hell of a sharp lens. Sharpness is maintained even when mounted on my Tamron 1.4x TC. Yes, AF works with the TC although it may hunt in low light.

Light-weight (weight of lens + TC is still lower than its 180 mm older sibling). Superbly built.

IS really works giving 4 to 5 stops advantage at non-macro distances and 1 stop at 1:1 magnification.

For its incredible performance, this lens is worth every cent of its price.

Oh, did I say this lens is sharp from corner to corner? Unbelievable.

A bigger max aperture is always useful for focusing, and the VF is brighter.

But 24-105 f/4L IS is totally different from the 100 f/2.8L IS macro!

BTW, where did you get yours from? I got mine from TK Photo.
