This is the old 50 1.8D but i already sold it, looks like 50 1.8G is better in terms of bokeh. ^_^

I think for those who still own the 1.8D- there's no need to change to 1.8G. From the images I have seen the Bokeh seems to be nicer from the 1.8G (WHEN I can compare side by side). If not compared side by side, I doubt I could really tell the difference between the two lenses in terms of Bokeh. Heck, I suspect that if I add my previously owned 1.4G into the mix- it's even harder for me to tell the difference.

Can still use it like a 75mm for portraits- subject isolation coupled with the nice Bokeh.

After getting this lens and immediately put it to use, I found out I've been taking VR for granted lol.

If you prefer half body shot taken in tight area, that's where it's wrong. I like head and shoulder shots that why I love 50mm lens. Now I'm hooked by the sigma 50mm F/1.4 after renting it....

Same here, cannot find in menu.
I just register it as 50mm F1.8- without the D or G designation.
