if u end up as clerk...my advise is : never become mobilisation clerk. that job can die one. but i respect those clerk who know how to do their job well
franchez said:However, should consider carefully as you have double vision and it might affect your range results.. Worst still, cannot pass keep going for reshoot.. ;p

no offence lah... but with double vision, you may very well become your platoon's "sotong king"

I have a classmate who was a CMPB clerk during his NS, no need reservice. Average fitness, I believe he hasn't tried 2.4km run since his school days.
Now driving a Mazda 6 (try to be low profile) and have about $20k per month income. He is 28.
Please tell me whose going to look down on him?
PLease be thinking long term. National Defence can be social, military, econmics etc of 5 aspect in Total defence.
Just play the part well where you can best contribute. My friend played a small part in the military defence, but right now he's contributing much more in the economics aspect.

To me its a holiday camp and meet my good buddies...y stress over reservist?
A good opportunity to shape up too, normal days too lazy for any form exercise and usually end of the ICT i will put on weight..keke
And a good excuse of not mreting gf for some? haha!!

IMO, just accept your pes status you won't regret it. Learn whatever you can from there. Can be useful in a way when you step into the working life.
But 1st of all must take it positive. Don't ever say you'll be wasting your 2yrs there being a clerk( if you should become 1).
If you positively accept what you are given, then you can have a better attitude to gain experience.
For adventures, physical training....plenty of opportunities later in your life after you ORD....better still, you can plan you own rather than planned by someone else.
IMO, either put me through the harshest training.....or just put me through the least physical demanding
sleeper said:those were my thoughts exactly when i went thru my NS......i was always one of the more active kids in school, and among my group of friends i was the only Pes A everyone else Pes E.......my best bud always joked that we would be posted to the commandoes together but 2 weeks before his bmt he tore the ligament in his knee badly and kena downgraded straight away....
but thats besides the point......i always believed that i should strive to be the best that i can be in what ever i do, and so when i was in tekong(old school tekong not the new one), there was word going ard that NDU was looking for recruits.....so i spoke to my PC about it, went for the medical, got thru and one 32 degree day during the dreaded bayonet training a clerk came running down the slope and spoke to the Sgt, i had 1 hr to pack my bags and leave on the first ferry to NDU......
most of my friends said i was crazy, some of the guys who kena mono intake straight into NDU though i was insane to volunteer to be posted there, but in the end after everything was done i was the one who made the decision and i'm happy about it.......
