As a former owner of the S6500FD, I would say if you want the wider angle, and have the budget, then go for the S100FS. The zoom range is from 28mm to 400mm. Colors are really vibrant. the S100FS retails for $870 thereabouts in places like M S Color.

well..would prefer to get a mid range one, cos i'm trying out on other brands..am very used to canon, would want to see whether the colours and features difference betwen canon and the rest..

thanks all for the advices.

then you should try the Fuji S100FS. ;)

looks like 100fs has got strong supporters here..

will take a look at it, then decide..cos i would want to test out the colours of the output..

Those who ask you to get the S100FS all used to own the S6500FD. We know what the brand can do.

I also used the S2 IS, predecessor to the S3 IS and S5 IS. Thte limitation is the wide angle of 36mm.

yup... S5is limitation is the wide angle..and the main issue for me is that i always like to group photos which i definitely find that wide lens is very important to me.. that is also the main reason why i bought my ixus 850is.

nevertheless, will be on the checkout today for the cameras...

thanks..

hi,
why nobody mention for Olympus SP570UZ??
also wide angle at 26mm with 20x zoom.
any comments for this camera??

hi,

i think the main reason is that olympus is not in my choice when i request for the review.

Currently, am only interested in either fuji or canon.

Thanks.

alright! i have gotten myself fuji s8100fd cos i dont think i can handle s100fs, as it belong to dslr... think it's better for me to stick to prosumer first before i get my hands on dslr...

went to east coast and snapped some photos too.. loved the colours man...

hmm..that's interesting..cos i went to cnetasia to read about it.. they classed it under dslr.. but think it's okie lah..since i already gotten s8100fd, so will start to have fun...

currently, the landscape pictures looks good.. just that i took some pictures today indoors for my coll's birthday, it's looks a bit grainy... could be because i use the "n" function bah..

Have fun. . . The S8100Fd is the new version of the S8000FD. More by 1 Megapixel.
