After briefly opening and closing my dry cabinet door the RH increases to a few % more and doesn't really drop back to 50% only after a long time. Is this normal?

at least 1 hr to stabilize....maybe overnight see how...:)

Thanks for the advise..1 more thing I need to ask,,,can u keep rechargeble battery in the cabinet if not in use..
Thanks
Why not? As long as there is a space for it. IMHO, it is better than keep them outside the dry cabinet since higher humidity actually not good for electronic.

Arto.

why not? mine took days to go back to 50%, i doubt fungus will grow during that few days anyway since most of the time it is only slightly above 50%.

Ok guys here's the info....

Currently RH is at around 50% and previously took overnight to return to 50% from 53% as i opened it to take out my blower. Position of knob is around 7 to 8 o'clock position (towards the H side).

Cos the right light has turned off due to RH stabilised so remains at 50%, unless of cos i open it. ;)

Around the same position like mine ;) . Mine is around 9 o'clock since I prefer ~44%RH.

Let's see if you can win the temptation next month ;) .

Bought a 30L one yesterday...no matter where i turn the knob the RH still reads 70% even when power is off...do i have a faulty set?

Nope. Initially when i bought my AD-060, the RH keeps dropping even though the knob indicator's at the H range. Now it's stabilised around 45-47%....but only after more than 2 weeks.

I want to get a dry cabinet for my fiance.
He is starting out on his collection. Right now he has a Canon G7 and another older model.
He would be getting a speedlite soon as well.
I reckon he would be getting 2-3 more accessories/camera.
What would be the most ideal dry cabinet i can get for him without breaking my bank?

Under the range of $250 if possible.
Thanks !

So nice of you... with $250 you can get a very decent dry cabi :D AD-70 cost only $188 (with digital meter) and 70 litres. But I think he needs something smaller unless he is expanding his gear (getting a DSLR while use his G7 as backup  ) I shared this link in other places http://www.digihub.com.sg/Uploads/pdf/3e6e60d3da424484aaa0835c6bee1214.pdf. Take a look. Just give them a call and they deliver free!

Hope it helps!

I just bought dri cab. First time using it so I am not so sure how it should works.
Lets say the level is at 45, If I put my stuff say a month without opening the door will the level still stay the same? Or you gotta adjust everytime?

If u have the DHC Pro series, yes it will. If it's HD or AD series, dun think it will. At least it'll have RH fluctuations or +/- 2%.

Mine is Digi Cabi AD 70...My main concern is when I go for travelling and I won't be able to monitor what the level is.. What if it goes down below 40? Will your camera, lense or battery spoil? So what should I do to keep the level constant? As for now I turn it to the mid range. Mine is High or low.. not the one with A,B C.. Right now i set it at the 12 o' clock. For about 4 hours now , the level is 43. So I don't know how much it will go down some more. I haven't put my stuff in there yet.. want to see it will stable at what level.
So what are your experience of using this dry cab? I really have no idea at all.

Yes my dehumidifying unit's the same as yours which is the auto cut off one in black colour. According to Digihub this combo with the AD series are the newer ones.

Place your dial at around 8 o'clock position. It'll take a few days at least to stabilise, but do not open the cabinet door.

Thanks,, Tried put at 8 o'clock last night.. in the morning i saw the level at 50.

Bring it to 8:30, you will get around 45%RH. I mean between 8:00 and 9:00.

Arto.
