Waa...first time I see this kinda "AI PI AI CHI ...AI DUA LIAP NI" ... Look at the Demands...But CHEAP!?
I dun mind offering cheaper services to build a porfolio..but waa..see this kinda demand..I abit buay tahan..

lelong lelong ah..come ah come ah..Clubsnap offer bloody cheap photography but gives lots of goodies... Best price ah..best deal!!..LOL:sweatsm:

seriously, 13 hrs of shoot with max $600 bucks that makes $46+ per hr... just raw labour

but if you include the number of hours you potentially have to work during the break for the montage, say 2 hrs of editing and compiling, you add another 2 hrs to 13hrs making 15 hrs, plus 350 pictures on preferred papers, say 30 cents a piece, that's another $100+

calculating all that... makes $33+ per hr :) though not a bad deal for upcoming new wedding photographer, I might feel offended if I were to take up this deal as the threadstarter did mention CHEAP photographer.

there may be pple who wants to take up this job for portfolio building purposes, I would think that the person taking up this job would be spoiling his own market in the future if he is to venture into a biz.

I would suggest 8Dec to approach the studio, if he has taken his studio package, to provide a "cheap" photographer which they usually have some freelancers offering "cheap" services.

good luck... just my 2 cents worth... :)

I normally don't comment on posts like such but honestly, I really do not know what to say if there are photographers out there who are willing to take on the job.

Personally for selfish reasons and for the interests of those who do photography for a living, I do hope nobody would take on this job because it is simply killing the livelihood of photographers if everyone do likewise.

A wedding is truly a 'Big day' for both the bride and bridegroom and also the family members. Among all things that are involved in this wedding event, the photographs are the most memorable ones they continue to bring back good memories even if it is 10 years down the road. The wedding dinner, the gowns, the well wishes - well, all these will be erased from memory as the days go by.

As such, why can't the wedding couple see the wedding photography as the most important and be willing to pay more for the beautiful memories that it will bring?

No offence meant but just my feelings on the justifications for fellow photographers, especially those up and coming ones who aspire to do well in this industry.

God bless,

Daniel

For me at $600, 350 4R with NO editing/artwork and no editing on other softcopy. The last time I took photo for a friends wedding, I took over 750+ photo. To edit all 750+ photo, I will need more $.

welcome to the club, dude.... we are glad you get it ... I mean from our perspective  Once anybody has done a complete wedding day shoot, they will probably understand how it feels to be asked to do all the above

Just curious...

Anyone know if $600 can cover the cost of the 350 pcs of 4R print using Kodak gold paper? Plus Unlimited shoot - Fine with that... but still want a photo montage for wedding dinner?

Sound like the one taking up this job got to put in money... or give him an "Ang Boa".

When he said "Photo Montage", does it means that he want the morning photo to be on slide show (use his LCD projector) before the dinner start?

in all fairness, he probably doesn't really know what he needs.

my guess is that he copied all those specs from somewhere, took 75% off the quotation and just posted it here to try his luck.

Dude, even in this digital age, the saying "You get what you pay for" still holds true.

Good luck with the phototgrapher hunt.

Ya Alan, I think most probably a slideshow with animated effects and probably music embedded. maybe also include providing the projector as well. :dunno:

I think he just joking lah....

u mean the guy who started this thread? i sure hope he is...

ya know... even tho we might vent our spleen and raise a hue and cry... inevitably someone will still go and take up the job. then, another couple (knowing dat they can get 'cheap' photographers) will start posting.... wash, rinse, repeat... sigh...

this is insane, $600 for everything. personally i will not take up this job. :nono: i will charge $1800 for what 8dec wanted. i hope 8dec understand that clubsnap is not the place to source for cheap cheap photographer and want him to deliver fantastic product.

sorry 8dec, not to poke u.

i do hope no one take up this job, we are killing our own market.

hhmmm... i wonder where is the thread starter now...

8Dec has exceeded their stored private messages quota and can not accept further messages until they clear some space.

I heard from a friend got a photographer from what company named studio* is taking up a full day shoot at $450 with 200-300 4R printouts. 1/2 day he is doing at $250. Might as well go and sleep the fellow. Making his skill cheapskate. Really a market spoiler. Somemore open a photo studio and offer these type of prices.

 charge like this still can afford studio ah..either his dad owns a bank or he dun mind doing it without much profit. The sad thing is ppl will always remember him as "CHEAP". I once saw a Bridal Mag ad offering at $499..yet still can pay for a full page ad..lagi good

Even some shops charge only $800 for a two day wedding shoot, but if they want the images to be montaged, of course the price would then go up.

if only all CSer have integrity...

To all newbie, if you want portfolio, shoot for friends or relative first (free lah), then be a pro's back up photographer for like 1 or 2 shoots. I am sure alot of pros here dun mind.

Then when you got confident, can go and chio business at pro's rate lor, dun lower just to get a gig. Think of your future gigs....
