hmmm.... change of color styles huh? saturated with high black leveling. prefer the softer approach previously, but dun bother what my preference is if you like this.

Eh... more like.. low lighting.. trying to compensate via leveling n saturation.. guess it didn't work..

I prefer the earlier ones too. cos the lighting was so gd esp during that sunrise at Ghorepani.

you mean the original is underexposed? you can try increasing exposure compensation on raw conversion (there should be a pop up window).

other than that, depending on what you want, you can
- increase the bright levels via leveling (i.e. on histogram, right white bar or the mid grey bar, either to the left)
- increase general brightness
- lightened shadow
- increase saturation
- increase lightness
but all to be tried out in moderacy and depending on how good is your original copy. also colors is another factor to consider.

the style for example in #48, can be used for a strong impression such as on urban subjects, old houses etc. i noticed that typical mode in azure's outing. personally i thought a more harmonious and less strong approach can be applied for travel photography, which have probably a different emphasis to entice. which in this case, may either require just increasing the bright tones, slightly lightening the shadow, and maybe slightly desaturating and shifting the hues of the leaves and the red words to provide a more harmonious color complement

#49 just need to lightened shadows below. i haven't yet tried long exposures to catch moving clouds. i think you did well and consider trying even longer duration.

the others is ok. the tungsten one is just for fun, rite? you can try to play around with more hues.

Wow..they are extremely great shots. I like the colour in your photos, and not forget to mention your composition..Er..I heard you use 400D and the kit lens only..Your skill is great great..

Must say you are talented Jiven..

Hi Jiven,

Nice to know that you're back from Nepal. Your pictures of the beautiful country are quite outstanding. I see many familiar scenes too. Great job capturing all these.

I think you should be able to see her if you do the Poon Hill trek as her parents guesthouse were the only one within ONE hour of anywhere.

Here is to link mine to this thread... http://forums.clubsnap.org/showthread.php?t=278387

you sure? i was there over 2007 New Year and she was at most 3-4 years. you pass her your email address? she didn't look like she even attended primary school let alone using the computer.

wonder how you get wonderful pics out of the plane window, most of them i have tried tended to go straight to garbage but the internal flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara is really beautiful. your #66 is so sharp, almost looks like it is shot in a studio!

Yup.. she was 3 yrs old last year.. Well, I sent her pictures to her and wrote a message and my contact.. though she may not be able to read it, the person who worked at the restaurant could and said he'll translate for her....keke.. Who knows, when she becomes older, she might just use computers.. :bsmilie:

As for #66, just go all the way till your lens touch the glass to avoid the reflection. But in #66, there is still a little reflection near the turbine area.. can't be helped I guess.

Wow... Nice. I hope I can visit these places in person someday.

wow.. thought this thread disappeared some time ago...

You should go Nepal if you can... the warmth of the people, the beauty of nature... the stillness in the mountains.. it'll be worth it.. :)
