This part of Taiwan looks completely opposite from the other side of the road. The other side of the road is a night market, a throwback into the 1990s. Just a stone's throw away, this bridge looks just a little too futuristic, or maybe it's just me and my imagination
And with this photo, it concludes my trip to Taiwan. It's been fun processing them, learning alot throughout the way. Though it's been also very disappointing to continually stare at my photos which is nowhere near Liew Tong Leng's level of travel photograpy. Hopefully one day I'll be able to reach his level of using backlight and reflection, as well as his immerse attention to details.
Last saturday at clubsnap's organised talk, he taught about LCM - Lighting, Composition and Moments. To be true to myself, to date, I had only been focusing on composition and moment. It's not that I had completely ignored lighting, but I had never paid special attention to it like I did for composition and moment. "
As long as it's decent and okay, I'm fine with it" is my attitude towards light. I had always believed that lighting can always be saved in post processing, but composition and moments when lost, are lost forever. "
Better to have a shot that's savable in post processing, than no shot at all". However that results in long processing hours in the photos, since heavy doses of time have to be spent on saving the light. But it's probably time that I need to pay more attention to the light to bring my photography to the next level, since photographers are essentially light painters.
Till my next trip, which is Borocay after my wedding in Oct, cya guys around! I doubt that I will be shooting Singapore landscapes before that, since I'll be busy preparing my wedding and exploring other genres of photography (e.g birding and wildlife) where light is more crucial
