Mythmaker's Landscape Learning Journey...

Nice rocks formation pic#11, care to share where this photo was taken? Last time I saw this rocks formation was at Bintan Lagoon, but later it were all removed and replace by the new Immigration Office and Jetty.

It actually is at Bintan Lagoon, at their jetty as you have mentioned :)

Its actually out of bounds and boarded up but I unknownly went in. Because the angle that I walked in, there wasn't a no entry sign within sight or anything haha. I only saw the no entry sign when I walked out another way.

Thanks for the information, it is sad to said that the Bintan Lagoon had destroyed the beautiful beach that it used to had, not to mention the little crabs and marine creatures were all gone. :(

Really like #13 very much. Nice one man :)

Resignment

This will always be a controversial photo to me. I submitted this photo to CRC's APAW (the only time I ever entered anything resembling close to a contest actually) and the judge at that time was a guy called Chen Wei Li. Since he's pretty much focus on intent of the photo, I wrote this (which is my actual thoughts when I was shooting this) along with the submission:

In life, sometimes your best friend gets the shorter end of the stick... but all you can really do is nothing.

You stood by and watch with tears in your eyes as he gets pounded by the waves all around... and the anger boils in you at your helplessness. But soon, as time goes by, you realise all you can do is just sigh in resignment...

Unfortunately, he feels it's way too dramatised and melancholy :( He also suggested that I should instead give it a square crop and make it B&W to something like this:

Not sure if I agree with him...

Do You Dare?

There was once, that I thought minimalist is pretty easy to shoot. Because there's nothing in the photo.

But that IS the problem; there IS nothing. That's how much stuff that have to be removed from the photo...! Haha, I never looked at minimalist photos the same way ever since.

your original pic looks better in my opinion. square crop makes the sun looks too compressed and it's a waste to crop out the clouds. as for colour or b&w, i think the color looks just fine.

Thanks, I felt the same for the sun and clouds too :D

Season's Change

One of my earliest shots. I might actually be able to save the building if my photoshop saving skills improve sometime in the future lol. Waiting for the day... waiting...
This is good, I like this composition! :)

A City in Prosperity

The skyline of Singapore would had never been founded without Mr Lee. As I stood there, it struck me on how much Singapore had changed and how far Mr Lee's vision of an urban jungle had become. I think his philosophy of planting trees is especially true, after looking at Hong Kong. The trees does indeed boosts people's morale with some greenery.

Technical details:
I just happened to be on Marina barrage yesterday, ill-equipped with a Venus 60mm, Canon 550D and no tripod or filter. So what resulted is a pretty massive 49 tiles panorama...
