The Summoning

They are coming.

I was thinking whether to post this, as I both shot and quick-process this photo to show my friend some of the things photoshop can do. Experience tells me never to post landscapes that's processed in less than 15 mins, but I showed my girlfriend and she told me it looks okay. So I guess I'll post it afterall :D

I'll go back working on my older photos after this again...

The Milky Way over my Rooftop, in Singapore. Version II

This is a re-process of #1. Still curious on how Justin Ng managed to process a clean milky way, I sat down and re-developed my workflow from scratch to try to bring out the milky way better, as well as doing some noise management. But after another 6 hours of R&D had gone into it, I was told that it's not as good as my first attempt (particularly on the colours). It just doesn't feel right and I have no idea how to fix it. But I guess I have enough of milky way for a while, and will be doing some other stuff until further notice haha.

Meanwhile if anyone wants a challenge, I have uploaded the *RAW* file for this photo:

The Galaxy's Villa

Just came back from Bintan last weekend, decided to process 1 photo first haha. So happy to get a milky way that's easier to process (than SG's).

The Path

Botanic Garden, Infra-Red.

Dabbled in Infra-red landscapes recently. I shall retire my thread in the Infra-Red forum lol, can't seem to get any C&C there as it's mostly dead =.= Anyway I just realised it's a user group and not a gallery there...

Nice, may I know which filter you using and did you mod your cam?

I'm using the Kenko Pro1D R72.

Using Canon 5D3 and Canon 24-70 f2.8 II. Not modified. So exposure timing is a little long... about a 14 stop ND's timing lol.

Requiem for a Dream.

There was a time when I was experimenting landscapes with crystal balls... heh.

Was thinking how to reinterpret this shot to death composition, and the idea of crystal ball came to me when looking at Helix's lights. So I went back, bought a crystal ball from ebay, waited 2 months for it to arrive, and went back to take the shot I had in my mind and dream.

"Landscape" shot at 200mm. :P

Reminisce of Past Glory

Reflection (on glass) shot during golden hour. The rest shot during blue hour.

Sometimes in life, our moment of glory have clearly moved on... but we kept hanging on and living in the past...

Incredible collection of nice photo here, good job. But just wonder how it is possible to capture the Galaxy in pic #6 & 10?

He was in Bintan, the skies was damn clear iirc. ;)

Thanks for the compliment :)

Although Bintan's alot better than Singapore, there's still alot of light pollution around. I can only see a fragment of the milky way with my own eyes, probably just a couple of cm. Fortunately, the camera can see much better than me. Simply pointing the camera upwards will get you the shot.

The sky wasn't very clear that night; it was pretty hazy and cloudy during sunset. But after processing #5, I now believe that recovering details is not impossible, it's just a matter of time :bsmilie:

If you want the raw file, I'll be happy to give it to you for practice. ;)

Once Upon a Time...

Chinese Garden, Singapore. It is named as such, because it is actually shot in infra-red. Here, a great majority of the people had never experienced winter. Hence, winter-like landscape in Singapore represents a fairytale to most of us...
