Hello all,

Need help desperately!

I'm new to video recording using my Canon SLR.
So is the one recording the footage.
He recorded with the camera turned sideways and now the video has people "walking on walls"!
How should I re-orientate the video?
Any software that can help? Or no hope?

I need help and your kind reply ASAP. My kid needs it for his school project!

Any video editing software should be able to let you rotate the footage by 90 degrees. You can then zoom in up to about 180% (if you output at SD resolution) to crop away the black borders on the sides, or zoom out to get the entire height within the screen (then you'll have big black borders by the sides).

Premiere pro CS5 allows you to import and edit the mov files directly. Might be the easiest solution.

Anyone else with other suggestions to help?

Worse case scenario is to ask your kid to turn the LCD TV 90 degrees when his/her video goes on screen...

2 ways only. Tilt the movie to 90 degrees.

1. Get a full resolution shot but with 2 black borders at the side
2. Zoom in to get full screen but pixelated video quality

Alternus or XsenseX,

Thanks for your quick response. Is there any free video editing software to download that you can recommend?
I don't do this often so no point buying the software.

Rgds,
