Honda unveiled the new ninth-generation Civic which the company described as "energetic, sleek and aerodynamic" in 2012. Following its launch, the new model was widely panned by the automotive press due to the poor quality of its interior and ride, and for the first time, it failed to earn a Consumer Reports recommendation.

In an unprecedented move, Honda made significant interior and exterior redesigns the following year to address these issues, but market share in the compact car segment already showed a marked decline from the previous generation of Civic. :thumbsd:

The eighth generation of the Honda Civic was introduced in 2006. Honda has made this Civic an appealing car with clean lines and a smart shape. Inside, the cabin is quite roomy for the Civic's size and has an airy feel (with plenty of legroom for the rear passengers. Its flat rear floor also provides a more comfortable seating position for the third passenger).

Reasonably priced, spacious and reliable it this Civic also delivers good fuel consumption. That's why so many of this model is seen on Singapore roads in the past 10 years. Honda debuted a Type R concept for this Civic too. The JDM/Asian 4-door Civic Type R went on sale in 2007 - powered by an uprated K20A 2.0-litre iVTEC engine producing 225 hp (see here for the specifications of this model below)

The model pictured here is Honda's new Jade RS, the replacement of its mighty-popular Honda Stream. A sporty compact MPV, it has a seating arrangement of 4+2 passengers (most MPV has a 5+2 seat arrangement). The Jade RS is longer, wider and lower as compared to Toyota's Wish, meaning that it's got more road presence than the competition, and a meaner stance.

This model retails at SGD $137,999 (as of Aug 2016 with CAT B COE $56,500) and I have yet to see this car on the road

Honda has launched the XR-V compact SUV in the Chinese market - basically a cheaper and tweaked version of the highly rated Vezel crossover aka HR-V in Europe and USA. The Honda Vezel incidentally was the best-seller in the first Quarter of 2016 in Singapore - with 2344 units sold ! Now we know why there are so many of this car on the roads..... :bsmilie:

A new Honda Greiz, launched in the Chinese market in 2016 is essentially a Honda City underneath a revised exterior. Greiz looks much more premium than the Honda City, thanks to its much more bold and sportier exterior with cues borrowed from the Honda HR-V (Honda Vezel) as well as the 2016 Honda Civic.

There are no significant changes inside the car though, it’s the same as the Honda City :bsmilie: The Honda City 1.5 i-VTEC (A) retails at SGD $$100,999 (as of Aug 2016 with CAT A COE $53,334)

WS126 Normandy "Rommel" (King and Country WS126)

"Germany's most famous and most respected... Feldmarschall Erwin Rommel… the Desert Fox. Here, however he is far from the burning sands of North Africa... he is inspecting beach defences on Hitler's vaunted "Festung Europa" (Fortress Europe). Dressed in his General's great coat and carrying his Marshall's baton he strides purposely forward..."

"K&C has produced several Rommel figures, mostly in his Afrika Korps uniform but never one as he appeared in France in 1940 during his command of the 7th. Panzer Division. Here he pauses at the side of a country road perhaps enjoying a sandwich and a cup of coffee."

Rommel was a highly decorated officer in World War I. In World War II, he distinguished himself as the commander of the 7th Panzer Division during the 1940 invasion of France. Later his leadership of German and Italian forces in the North African Campaign established his reputation as one of the most able commanders of the war, and earned him the appellation of "the Desert Fox".

He later commanded the German forces opposing the Allied cross-channel invasion of Normandy in June 1944.

King and Country WS209

29708634490_0c69db814b_o.jpg

In the system-specific allotment if duties, each member of the crew is dependent on the other for all to survive a mission together. During operations, the crew lives in and with the vehicle, not only during combat, but also before and after. This armored scout car has a crew of three. The Commander/Loader and Gunner sat in the turret while the Driver seat is in the hull.

In the German Army, armoured cars were intended for the traditional cavalry missions of reconnaissance and screening. They scouted ahead and to the flank of advancing mechanized units to assess enemy location, strength and intention.

Their primary role was reconnaissance, but they would engage similar or light units and at times attempt to capture enemy patrols. The Leichter Panzerspähwagen ("light armoured reconnaissance vehicle") was a series of light four-wheel drive armoured cars produced by Germany from 1935 to 1944.

The model depicted here is one of such cars - designated SdKfz 222 which became the standard light armored car in German army service until the defeat of Germany.

WS209 Sd. Kfz. 222 Armoured Car (King and Country WS209)

"Another great German classic! The 222 has long been a favourite of K&C and now we’re going to release a small varied selection for different “theatres of war”. Here’s our first... Dust-covered and in field-grey this early/ mid war version has the vehicle commander carefully protected inside the gun cupola."

29939813472_5f90b02730_o.jpg

Designed to meet operational requirements including reliability, run on a variety of grades of fuel, simple construction and good off-road performance the SdKfz 222 became the standard light armoured car in German army service until the defeat in 1945.

Used by the reconnaissance battalions (Aufklärungs-Abteilung) of the Panzer divisions as a scout car, the SdKfz 222 performed well enough in countries with good road networks, like those in Western Europe. However, on the Eastern Front and North Africa, this class of vehicle was hampered by its relatively poor off-road performance in mud and sand and also its lack of effective range. In those theaters, it gradually found itself replaced in the reconnaissance role by the Sdkfz 250 half-track.

Sloped armor is used at all of the facings of the hull superstructure - offering good protection from small arms fire up to 7.92mm in caliber for the crews.

SdKfz 222 is also fitted with a rotating open top turret protected by grenade deflecting mesh screens (visible from this top view of the armored vehicle)

This scout vehicle is armed with an anti-tank / anti-aircraft 2 cm KwK 30 L/55 autocannon (which is extremely effective against light vehicles and infantry) and a 7.92 mm machine gun as well.
