the rest is up to you to decide, but between the 2 models (LX2 and 850IS), its no doubt LX2 for me... unique 16:9 native sensor/LCD and full manaul mode. price are pretty close as well.i get it now...thanks!

wide angle lens and format have got are not really related... but if you use LX1/2 to shoot in 4:3 or 3:2 you might not get the full wideness of 28mm since they are actaully cropped from the original 16:9 that give 28mm view.
thanks for bringing that up..http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/panasonictz3/page4.asp
read under aspect ratio;;
i dont really understand.. but if it adds to the confusion...
Hi guys.
I've really been smitten with the LX2 bug. Been agonizing over it for over 3 weeks now but have been resisting the urge to get it due to the NR artefacts. Can anyone share a randomly shot RAW file with me at ISO200 and ISO400? I really need to convince myself that the details isn't going to be as bad as what was on Dpreview . . .
Also, any one of you used a G7 before? I would have gotten that instead but it lacks a wideangle.
A GX100 or GRD would be ideal, but I lack the dosh needed for those.
Any help would be very much appreciated please. Thanks!
Hey,
Thanks nsalman and eejal. Unfortunately (or fortunately), I already bought the LX2 on Sunday. Darn, I thought no one was going to reply my questions.![]()
Anyways, I was agonizing over the G7 and the LX2 for a few hours, but ended up with the LX2 anyways. The G7 is quite a bit more hefty and bulky. Add to the fact that the LCD kept flickering . . . well, I guess I was won over by the chic look of the LX2 - shallow as that may sound. I guess I am REALLY tired of lugging around anything resembling an SLR - too many years of that.
Anyways, still trying to get used to the image quality and esp the flash . . . am actually thinking of selling it off to a mate and just get the GX100 now - but after I saw the thread on the GX100, I'm of the opinion that it isn't that much better IQ-wise, so it would be a lot of hassle for a minor image improvement.
Either way, I'm REALLY missing my 5D now . . . sigh.
p.s. anyone knows if there is an underwater casing for the LX2?

After seeing so many positive reviews and user experience here, it's very tempering to buy this digitial camera. Anyone knows whether any computer fair is coming perhaps can get a good bargin during the show. ;p
