Thanks ;)

Still thinking whether to get 1X 8 GB or 2X 4GB

Go get 2x4GB. Easier to manage. I'm sure u gonna put ur S5 into a bag or pouch.. cfm got small pocket for your extra card.

Thanks for your suggestion :), btw any reason why you would go for 2x4GB? if easier to manage i think 8GB would be better, you don't have to change the sd card so often isn't it?

Thanks ;)

if its pure photos purposes, 2 x 4GB sounds more suitable for u... if u r planning to shoot long length videos too, consider 8gb, since it can accommodate both areas very well...

Thanks ;)

Get 2 x 4GB as in case anything happens with one card, still got another one. If u get 1 x 8GB and something happens to it, everything's gone.

One more question, any of you tried to format the 4GB to FAT32 and use the CHDK?

Any noticeable performance difference?

I'm using chdk on my 4gb sdhc. What do you mean by performance difference? As in, compared to a 2gb sd card with chdk? If that's what you are asking, I can't tell cos my 2 gb is the normal speed one and the 4gb is an extreme III. But I don't think there's any difference.

i dont think there would be any difference if the CHDK were loaded on a 2gb or a 4gb SD.
there would however be a different case if a SDHC card were used, which are usually of higher capacity than 4gb.
the method of installing and also the partitions would have been slightly altered.

have hooted one.. still experimenting...

but tks, how do i improve the blurring effect? F2.8 wasn good enuf  couldn live up to 10D with 17-40 F4L
had to do MF to get good blurring effect...

and i realise i couldn set multi AF points... does S5 possesses multi AF? ders only centre or select face...

last qns.. Super Macro at 0cm, issit bullshiting? H9 could do better... :sticktong

What do you mean by blurring?

You can shift the AF point around. Press the <SET> button, then use the control pad to move the AF point around. Press <SET> to lock it there. It is in the manual.

Yes, super macro is ZERO cm.

I meant the transfer rate. I have a 4GB Toshiba SDHC so if I convert it to FAT32, is there any impact on the data transfer of the card?

4GB and above are already considered HC.

Hi guys.. been reading up but not posting lately. Anyway guys, I've got some problem trying to load up CHDK and run it on my S5.

Could you guys perhaps fill me in on how I should do it? I went thru the instructions etc etc but still CHDK wun work when I power up my camera. I've chked my ver, its 1.0.1.0, created the files as mentioned in my SD card, loaded in the bin file etc but to no avail.

Would kindly appreciate it if anyone of u here could be able to help me out.

Did you check the voltage of this flash? It could be too high for the S5, which may in turn damage the camera. (I think voltage of 5V is generally safe for the S5)

I think it is a bit too late to warn him since he has already fired the flash with his S5IS. Looks like there is no smoke or sparks as he didn't say anything about that...;p

No more pic lately hehehe well I'll start first to start the ball rolling.

CCs are welcome! :)

Guys, I wish to take pictures of the firework display tmr but am unfamiliar with the optimum settings for such shots. Wad would you reccommend?

I understand from a previous post (#1206) from cerebrus that he used (fully manual, f5.0, 2 secs, w/ tripod). How abt the ISO setting? Should I turn off the IS mode while shooting from the tripod?

Another qns, I've got CHDK up n running, besides the battery life and the SD card indicator, wad else is there that I haven notice?

Tks u guys for the input.

PS: Thanks velesco & icem4n
