You can buy a 58mm or 52mm adapter. If you're planning to buy tele convertor or wideangle converter advisable to buy 58mm. You can buy the hoya uv filter for protection and a lenscap as well. Filter size will be based on the adapter size you bought.

No it can't. It can only do manual focusing and the basic manual settings in M mode.
pls advise on if the filetr and adaptor is necessary ... i just wan to use it to protect my lens .. thanks
Adapter, get the original (around $48). Filter wise, can try Hoyas or splurge more for a B+W. Filter diameter is 58mm.
another question is .. I do not own a dry cabi ... and i bring my s5 is out everyday .. will fungus develop ? Also .. just wondering if most of u users here actually attached the adaptor and filter to ur S5 ? I'm a total newbie to this kind of prosumer camera ... thanks for all the great advice and help rendered ... Is it possible to get a adaptor , filter and a stable enough tripod ( tried out the canon one but feel tat its not very stable ) for a budget of $100 ? Thanks to everyone who has been helpful . Any camera if used regularly, a dry cabinet is not necessary unless u plan to store your camera for long. Also take note that exposure of lens to the sun can eliminate the growth of fungus in your lens.
If u just plan to store your S5 IS with some accessories, a 30L one will suffice. Else, get a bigger one. Gd brands of dry cabinets are Am-Pro and DigiCabi, just to name some.

a 30L is around $90+ and can get them at Carrefour for the DigiCabi brand. Some cam stores do carry so u've to check with them.
How did u try to get it off? Those reflective spots seems common such as water spots or common stains. No need for any servicing unless your lens has internal fungus.
eh i used my lens cloth to wipe it many times ( say about 7 times ? ) but it just doesnt come offi wonder if the stain is stuck inside ? but i just bought my cam about a week ...
If it's really those water stains, try using some lens solution (buy those more expensive ones as cheaper ones can destroy the coating) and lightly spray onto a piece of lens tissue. Then gently apply it onto the affected area. Don't clean the entire lens element as those areas not affected, leave it alone.
Ermm...that i'm not sure as i always clean it myself.
